Fluffy fluff!
Sunlight shone through the crack in the curtains, and Kurt Hummel's eyes opened slightly. A thousand images of the night before rushed through his mind, and he smiled to himself. Warm arms surrounded him and Blaine's light breathing tickled his neck. He closed his eyes and burrowed himself back down into his boyfriend's embrace. However, once awake he found it incredibly difficult to not open his eyes to their full capacity and feast on the incredible boy beside him. And who was he to fight such a desire? He sighed at the sight of Blaine, sound asleep and completely relaxed.
One year. Exactly one year ago, Kurt had got in his car and drove to Dalton academy, walked through the ornate doors and marvelled at what would one day become his school. Ascended a flight of stairs and shook the hand of the boy who would change everything forever.
One year ago yesterday Kurt had been choosing an outfit that was as close to the Dalton uniform as his wardrobe could supply. He blushed at the stark contrast of the night before, as clothes had been shed without a fraction of the thought.
He thought of where he was a year ago, how dismal his future seemed. Though he wouldn't admit it to anyone, his life had been in an extremely dark place. Burt's campaign that claimed the arts saved lives was true, and extremely close to home, though Kurt pushed that thought away. The past was behind him now, thanks to Blaine, the boy who wasn't afraid to show Kurt just how special he was.
Kurt's first kiss with a boy had been ripped away from him, and now here he was, the morning after a much bigger, much more perfect first. He thought of the other firsts he'd had with Blaine. First kiss, that Blaine argued definitely did count, and Kurt couldn't help but agree, first date, first boyfriend, first dance, first "I love you" – which, Kurt thought, was the only "I love you" he ever needed.
Blaine's long eyelashes casted slight shadows on his cheeks and Kurt found himself pressing his forehead against the sleeping boy's, rousing him from his dreams. Blaine smiled – the smile that was reserved for Kurt and Kurt only and spoke so much more than his words ever could.
They said nothing for a while; there was no need to. Blaine rubbed his nose gently against Kurt's, reminiscing on the previous night's events just like Kurt first had.
"What are you thinking of?" Kurt whispered finally, not wanting to break the peaceful silence they were in.
"You," Blaine answered simply. His hand was wrapped gently around Kurt's wrist, which was situated under Blaine's chin. Blaine's fingers stroked his boyfriend's skin lovingly. "Just you. Happy anniversary, Kurt."
"Anniversary?" Blaine's words combined with the lazy, contentedness of the morning made Kurt's head slightly fuzzy. "We didn't start dating until March."
Blaine smiled wider, his eyes twinkling. "But my heart was yours from the moment we met on the staircase. Even if I didn't know it yet."
Kurt's heart expanded in his chest, and the couple met in a slow, sweet kiss. Just like the ones they'd shared before, and like the ones they'd experience in the years to come.
