It was the third night in a row that he couldn't sleep. Whenever Kirishima closed his eyes he remembered Fatgum in the hospital, fighting for his life, the fear for his comrade's life. He knew this was something he'd have to look forward to for the rest of his life. Hero work would only get harder, scarier, and he couldn't avoid sleeping forever. He just needed something to take his mind off of his dreams for a while and then he'd try again.

He reached over to his bedside table for his cell phone, opening the group chat that he had with Mina and Midoriya. To his surprise, there was a recent message waiting for him, sent ten minutes ago.

Mina: I can't sleep.

He hadn't really expected his friends to be awake, even though he had been hoping. He typed out his own message after a moment.

Kirishima: Me neither.

It was less than a minute later that the reply came.

Mina: Want company?

Kirishima: Please.

He put his phone back on the table and turned on his lamp. He was eager for anything to get his mind off of his dreams. He pulled his legs up to his chest and waited.

A few minutes later there was a hesitant knock on his door. Midoriya stuck his head in without waiting for an answer and Mina peeked into the room over his shoulder. "Hey, Kiri!" Mina greeted cheerfully.

"I hope we're not intruding," Midoriya said.

Kirishima sat up properly to greet them. "No, it's fine. I wanted the company."

Mina bounced into the room and flopped onto the bed beside Kirishima. Midoriya entered the room more slowly, carrying a tray of warm drinks and snacks. He pushed the door closed with his hip as he moved toward the bed. "It's hot chocolate," he said as he placed the tray on the table and handled them each a mug."

"You're the best, Midoriya!" Mina said as she nuzzled his arm, making him blush.

"Thanks man," Kirishima told him with a smile.

"It's fine," Midoriya answered. He brought a bag of marshmallows and his own mug to the bed, sitting on the other side of Kirishima. "I was already in the kitchen when Mina found me and pulled me along."

"I'm happy to have the company," Kirishima said. "I would have gone crazy if I had to stay up by myself."

Mina took a long sip of her hot chocolate before leaning her head on his shoulder. "So what was keeping you up, anyway, Kiri?"

He reached out to stuff a handful of marshmallows into his mouth, leaning his head on top of hers. "Just bad dreams," he answered once he finished chewing.

"You've been having a lot of those lately, haven't you?" Midoriya asked. Midoriya was watching him so closely that Kirishima found himself blushing and looking away.

"I-it's nothing," he said.

Mina turned her head to look up at him. "It's not good to keep these things inside," she told him. "You can talk to us."

Midoriya moved closer to him, wrapping an arm around his waist. "If you want, we don't mind sleeping in here with you."

"I don't know if I'll get much sleep tonight anyway," Kirishima told them. He sat up and drained the rest of his hot chocolate. Midoriya took it from his hands, reaching out for Mina's as well, placing all the mugs back on the tray.

Mina took a handful of marshmallows, leaning over to feed one to Midoriya, and then holding one for Kirishima. He blushed as he accepted it. "We'll always be here for you, Kiri, so feel free to rely on us, okay?" She took his hand in hers, intertwining their fingers and smiling at him.

Midoriya took his other hand, staring at their entwined fingers contemplatively. "Kiri... you know we love you, right?" Midoriya looked up at him. Kirishima felt like his heart was beating triple time in his chest. "We don't say it often, but it's true."

"It's true," Mina echoed. "We really truly love you, Kiri!"

Kirishima closed his eyes and squeezed their hands. "That... really means a lot to me. I love you both, too."
