The young man makes his way quickly down the hospital corridor. He knows the exact location of her room.
He walks in the open door and smiles at the old woman in the bed, who does her best to smile weakly at him.
"Hi, mum," he says. His grin is wavering aswell. He can't stand to see her like this. He knows her time is almost up on this earth, and that the time she's spending here now is full of pain. The irreversible cancer is ravaging her body quickly. The thought that her pain will be over for her soon is so awfully bitter-sweet.
"Hi, Aaron," she says. She can't sit up anymore, so she lays down in the bed all the time. Her bones are weak from the disease.
"I brought you some flowers, y'know, to brighten the room a bit,"
She chuckles at him. "Save them for my funeral, dear."
His mouth drops open. "Mum, don't say that!"
"Aaron, I'm not scared of dying. Don't you be scared of it either."
He's crying now. "You can't die, mum, you can't. I promised I would never leave you, when I was younger. You can't leave me either! You can't die like Aunt Juliet and Uncle Sawyer and everyone else. You can't," he's practically begging as he sits beside her holding her fragile hand in his.
Her eyes are starting to droop a little now. "I love you, Aaron," she says.
"Mum... Please," he whimpers.
"Aaron," she looks at him intently. "Don't cry for me. I've lived a good life. I don't have any regrets."
He only stares at her, tears rolling down his cheeks. He knows she's right. He knows how much she's suffering, and he doesn't want her to.
"I love you, Mum," he tells her, lightly squeezing her hand.
"I love you too, Aaron," she whispers. Her eyes drift closed, and the heart monitor beside her bed flat lines.
His resolve to let her go disappears as her life does.
"Mum!" he screams. "Mum, no!" His resolve to let her go isn't as strong as he thought.
Doctors have entered the room now, but they know nothing can be done.
"Mum, mum!" Aaron is hysterical as doctors escort him from the room.
But she doesn't hear any of this. She is somewhere far away. Her long blonde hair and wrinkle-free skin has returned.
Her bright blue eyes open and she realizes she's on a beach. It's a beach she recognizes.
"Claire?" Someone asks her. She looks up and sees him.
He's just as she remembers- wearing his ring with a "DS" printed on it, his stubbly shadow of a beard, and his hair the color of sand and a bit dirt.
"Charlie?" she whispers.
He's beside her in a flash. "Claire!" he exclaims.
They embrace, and she finds herself crying- but these are tears of happiness.
When he kisses her, she never wants to let him go.
"Come with me," Charlie takes her hand. He leads her out to the beach where familiar faces wait.
Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Juliet, Sayid, Shannon, Boone, Hurley, Sun, Jin, Desmond, Penny, and everyone else is already there. Friends who have passed on long and not so long before her.
"We've all been waiting for you, Claire," Jack says, hugging his half sister.
And she's home.

Lots of people come to the funeral of the sweet old lady who's son is the lead singer of a world famous band.
Everyone is sad, there's a heavy fog of grief hanging in the air. That is until everyone gets a chance to look inside the casket.
As people look at her, smiles and happy tears begin to appear.
Because of the old woman who died with a satisfied smile on her face.

This is a quick one-shot that I wrote (and when I say quick, I mean less than 30 minutes.) I love writing PB&J stuff so much because they are just so cute. In this version I decided to make the island their afterlife state and skip them having to remember everything.
Please please PLEASE tell me what you think (I will love you forever and ever!)
