This is sort of an explanation for why Jade dislikes Tori so much/treats her the way she does.

What the hell, she thought. After she boarded her flight and landed in LA she would never see the girl again. She turned back to look at the stranger, inhaling then exhaling. Here goes nothing."There's this girl," Jade began. "Cat. That's her name. I should think that's a stupid name. But it fits her. She makes everything sound good. I think if she looked at me with those big brown eyes of hers, with that cute smile she always has, and asked me if I wanted to get punched in the face, I would say yes."

Jade stopped talking and sized the other girl up. The stranger hadn't flinched or reacted at the fact that Jade was talking about another girl, another girl she clearly had feelings for. Seeing no negative reaction, she continued. "But I'm babbling. She does that to me. So, there's Cat. I like her. A lot. I know she's not perfect, I'm not delusional, but she makes it seem like everything about her is perfect."

Jade sighed. She was starting to babble again. Worst yet, she was sounding like. . . like everything she hated. The girl looked at her, waiting for her to continue. Jade was quiet for a moment, not wanting to say more, so the girl asked, "And you can't tell her?"

Jade shook her head. "I'm . . . I'm scared."

It was hard for Jade to admit that. But here, in the airport, with this girl she was never going to see again, and for her own sake, she did it. She admitted it and finally told someone about her feelings for the short red-head and her fear of losing her.

Jade drummed her fingers on her desk. The first day of school, the first class, and she was already bored. Well, half bored. The other half of her was busily subtly staring at Cat. At least she hoped it was subtly. At that moment she heard the door open, everyone looked up, but she didn't bother looking up. "Sorry I'm late. I couldn't find my way around," said a familiar voice.

It took Jade a second to place it, but once she did her head snapped to the front. "It's all right. You must be Tori Vega," the teacher said.

The brunette nodded and smiled. The teacher instructed her to take a seat. As she was heading for her new desk, her eyes met Jade's. Tori was surprised, but she quickly hid it, while Jade's eyes continued to stay wide open, in shock. Of all the people Jade had decided to engage in conversation and tell her secret to in that airport, it had to be her new classmate.
