AN: I was casting around for inspiration this morning, and this little piece came to me during a lecture. Not the best time, but when the muse strikes... Anyway, they're not my characters, as I'm sure you know. I just play with them.
A stroke of her brush on my skin, and I shiver. It isn't cold, she's just found a ticklish spot. She's turning my skin into a living canvas, because she wanted a challenge. I know what she's painting, because she sketched it out on paper first, but I can't actually see it, because she's painting my back.
I lie on cushions on her floor, stripped to the waist, while she creates her latest masterpiece. She always uses me for her paintings, though this is the first time it's ever been like this. I can't object to it – she's so careful, and always nervous about asking me to model for her, even though we've been together for the past year.
She murmurs that she's finished, and then rummages around for a camera. That's the only way she'll be able to keep a copy of this picture, as it will wash off my skin the first time I go swimming, or have a shower. I won't actually see the finished piece of artwork until the photos are developed, but I don't mind.
I can't go anywhere until the paint has dried, so I'm stuck here for a few hours. Naminé's gone to prepare dinner, and I struggle to stay still, as she's asked me. I flick through a sketchpad she's left (probably accidentally) within my reach. There are lots of drawings of the two of us together – some in colour, and some not. My hair looks horrendously bright next to her pale blonde locks, but our eyes are almost the same shade of blue.
I turn the page, and the next image surprises me. It's Axel and Riku, neither noticing the artist, but completely wrapped up in each other. Knowing that Naminé's drawings are always accurate, I wonder when those two are going to tell us about their extremely obvious relationship.
Sora and Roxas, now there's a couple I know about. Sora was so scared when he came to tell me – I'd always been in love with him when we were younger, but we wouldn't be happy together now. Not as happy as we are.
Leon, Cloud, Aerith and Yuffie, our friends in Radiant Garden. We go to see them as often as we can, now that we've persuaded Donald and Goofy to get us a Gummi ship. We travel a lot, actually, though there are no more Heartless to fight. Once a year, everyone gathers here on the islands to celebrate the triumph of light over dark. That's why Naminé's been busy doing all these pictures – she wants new ones to display. It seems to be expected at these parties. She loves doing the painting – she is an artist, but hates all the attention it brings her. That's just one of the reasons I love her.
