This is a OCx? fanfic but also focus' on a non-canon (yet) MaiXNaru. This is my first fanfiction, but I'm really excited. Please don't flame. I welcome constructive criticism, so don't be afraid to hit me with the hard truth. Warning: If you are looking for a fanfiction where everyone falls in the love in the first couple chapter- you are not gonna get that here. I plan to write this story at a reasonable pace; hopefully not too fast and not too slow. Thanks for reading! This will be told in mostly first person.

Disclaimer: I do not own Ghost hunt or any of the characters in this fanfic- except for my OC.

I walked down the street with confidence in my step but utter anger on my face. Goddammit where is that bastard? My thoughts were raging, I mean, where could he have gone? He said he was in japan didn't he? I checked my phone for the umpteenth time when I finally got an email. From the one and only Oliver Davis.

'It just occurred to me I never gave you the address. I apologize for thinking I could depend on that small little brain of yours. But meet my team and I at the building for Shibuya Psychic Research. I'm sure you will be able to find it.- Oliver'

that BASTARD How dare he accuse me of being idiot. Considering we both know that I'm the one person who surpassed him in school.

After locating a map and a person who knew what the hell Shibuya Psychic Research was, I made my way to the presumed office building. A black van was waiting outside. Multiple people loading equipment into it. These people must be his teammates.

I sauntered over to the group with a smirk. Only to see someone I haven't seen in quite a long time.

"L-LIN!" I screamed as I ran up to the tall male. He sighed.

"Naru would you like to tell me why she is here?" I raised an eyebrow.

"You didn't know I was coming?" I questioned with slight anger in my voice.

"Oh, Lin. I didn't think it would bother you much. You two used to be quite good friends." Oliver replied coyly. The rest of the team stood dumbfounded. There is only one thought that could be going through their heads.

'Since when does Lin have friends?!'

I stiffled a giggle as it occurred to me.

"So Oliver- what exactly does Naru stand for?" I asked with a smirk.

"Ask Mai" was the only response I got. I was about to ask 'who?' when a girl with short brown hair and lively brown eyes walked up to me.

"Hi! I'm Taniyama Mai. Nice to meet you."

"The pleasure is mine. You can call me Keket. But please- tell me the story behind this new name for my beloved little Oli." I could see the curious stares from the others and the annoyed one from Oliver. He did always hate my name for him. I laughed slightly.

"Oh, I really just call him that because he is so narcissistic and it just kind of caught on." I tried to hold in my laugh but it was futile. I broke out in giggles.

"OH"-laugh- "MY"-wheezes- "DEAR GOD! Oli that's worse than my nickname for you. At least mine pertains to your actual name." I turned to see the others trying to hold in their laughter.

"I should probably introduce myself. Hello everyone- My name is Keket. Pleased to make your acquaintance." I finished with a smile and nod of the head. They went around in a circle introducing themselves. I immediately filed them in my mind. I will have to research them all soon. Until I realized one girl and guy hadn't introduced themselves. I walked up to the girl with short black hair

"And you are...?" The collective gasps made me feel like I should know her. She merely glared at me before replying.

"Masako Hara" Well diggity dang looks like the little princess can speak. I barely stopped myself from saying that out loud before two arms wrapped around my neck from behind. I heard a faint 'Yasu you idiot!' from Oli before I took one hand pulled his body over mine, slamming him into the concrete. He groaned before looking me in the eye and saying.

"Ooooe. Feisty- I like it. I also like the whole bad ass hot girl vibe you got going on. By the way I'm Yasuhara. You can call me Yasu, drop the honorifics." Yasu finished with a wink. I shrugged at the dude before walking over to (newly named) Naru.

"So what do you need from me?" The look in his eyes looked calculating- as if my looks really surprised him that much. My pin-straight black hair flowed down to my mid-back. I had on dark blue skinny jeans and a white tank top. My black combat boots looked run-down and old. My signature black leather jacket finished the look. I mean sure I matured and my body grew a bit since I've last seen him but still, he never spends this much time just looking at me. I was brought out of my thoughts by his voice.

"We have a case, and I would like your help." I nodded in silent agreement, waiting for him to continue. As he opened his mouth he was cut off.

"Naruu?! Why! You already have everything you need, why would you possibly need this weak looking girl." The annoying girl screeched. And when I say screeched- I mean literally screeched. It sounded like a fucking dinosaur.

"Yes Masako- Its true. I have everyone and everything a paranormal team could want. But sadly, miss Keket is not someone I would normally want anywhere near any of you." Okay rude. But I see what you are getting at. I'm still surprised the exorcist hasn't said anything. Or the monk for that matter.

"Why is that?" Mai inquired innocently.

"Don't tell me shes what I think she is? I thought my senses were just being a bit weird!" Monk asked alarmed. Ah, so he did notice.

"No I'm afraid you are probably right.- I just want to say I wouldn't call her if I thought she was a danger to anyone. But frankly- based on what the client has said, she will be needed." Naru responded. I smiled smugly before receiving a slight nod from Naru. I turned around to face the rest, only for the group to give a round of collective gasps. I knew they were afraid to say it. Everyone was when they first saw.

"Right, I am a demon." The smirk on my lips didn't leave.
