I held the most precious gift in my arms, the other had his arms wrapped around me as we stood in the maternity ward looking at our baby for the first time. When we had decided on having a child we talked about adoption and that didn't really work for us so we decided on surrogacy and thanks to an old friend Jill who had been willing to donate her egg and carry our baby to term, we had finally been blessed with the most beautiful gift of all. Jill who had three kids of her own had jumped at the idea of helping us birth a child, and all three of her children and her husband Craig were very accepting of the whole thing, Jill let us come along to the sonograms and doctors appointments and even allowed us to be in the room during the birth. It had been a long and exciting nine months and Gibbs and I had been busy preparing since the day we found out that the whole procedure had been successful. Gibbs spent many long tiring hours down in the basement whilst not at work making furniture for our baby, whilst I focused on keeping my paper work and other things up to date so that I could take the next three months of for paternity leave, something that we had discussed between us and finalised with Vance about a month ago. The team had known that we had been dating for about three months before we decided that we wanted a child, and then today as Jill was giving birth another surprise happened something that I wasn't quite expecting, Gibbs proposed and of course after a year and a half of dating I said yes, I can still remember the heated kiss we shared just before we heard the first little cry of our little girl.

"She's beautiful" Gibbs whispered kissing my cheek whilst rubbing a finger over her chubby little cheeks

"She really is Jet" I said and he rested his head on my shoulder as I continued to hold our little girl. Her little hand snuck its way out of the little blanket and she started clenching her fist, I smiled as Gibbs hand appeared right next to her hand and she grabbed his finger, it was such a cute sight.

"What shall we name her?" he asked and I looked down at her thinking, we had discussed names but none of them seemed to fit this beautiful girl in front of us

"India?" I asked and looked at Gibbs who seemed to be in thought for a couple of minutes and then smiled

"India Sapphire Gibbs?" he questioned and my mouth dropped, to me I had never heard a more perfect name

"Hi India" I said looking down at the little girl and bouncing her gently as a small little smile graced her lips. We remained that way for a couple minutes more before Gibbs whispered in my ear

"I think we should introduce her to the others" he said and I nodded. Abby and the others had been behind the glass the whole time filming the interaction of course it wasn't going to be with sound but she said it would be something that we would treasure at a later date. So we headed out our little girl tightly supported in my arms as the others waited anxiously.

"Guys we'd like you to meet our daughter, India Sapphire Gibbs" Gibbs said and Abby squealed in delight and then made her way to our side

"She's gorgeous guys" she said and we nodded our heads. Ducky, Tim and Ziva made there way to our sides.
