Ruby impatiently drummed her fingers on the metal railing, half expecting to die from boredom. The only sound was the steady whoosh of the waves beating against the dock. The night time air was tinged with the smell of fish and salt from the rolling ocean below. Normally it shone a dazzling greenish blue, but at night it seemed like a endless black mass. Weiss stood next to her, trying suppress the shiver that ran through her. The night air was deceptively cold. Ruby, Blake, and Yang had said she may want to take a extra shirt or jacket, but Weiss had insisted she was fine.
There is no way it was this cold when we left! Stupid pride, should have just taken the coat! She admonished in her head. The deed was done however, and there was no way she would ask to borrow one from the others on the team. She be damned if she was gonna show any weakness.
Yang paced back and forth, doing what she did best. Which is reflect what her sister, Ruby, was thinking and complaining loudly about it. "This is the most boring thing anyone has ever done⦠I mean, really! You think that we would be doing more important thing, but here we are. Waiting on some stupid lead Blake dug up." Her face reddened as she looked behind here to the top of a shipping container. "Sorry Blake, I didn't mean that you're stupid or that you did anything wrong, just running my big mouth, you know?"
Blake allowed a small smile, which was rare for her. The sight of it was enough to let Yang know that she was forgiven. Blake watched form the top of the container, waiting for the mysterious contact to show up. After weeks of chasing leads in shady alleys, this lead was the first she trusted. Not to say the others had no leads. Yang had explored every club she knew of, Weiss used her company contacts, and Ruby searched around the school. What made Blake certain was that this information had come straight from someone inside White Fang. She kept her silent vigil over the docks. Trying to spot anything out of the usual.
It was right before Ruby was about to call out how bored she was with this. A figure emerged behind the group. The figure wasn't seen by Blake or noticed by Yang. The shadow acted just like that, a shadow. The figure stepped out of the shadow, His mask showing bright in the moonlight. "Well, what do we have here? You must be the ones who are interfering White Fangs plans." The man said as he strode into the light. The entire team (Including Weiss, though more furious when she saw the man. Not only had he spooked her so easily, but he spooked her in front of Ruby.) jumped at the sudden appearance of The masked man. "Who are you?" Ruby called, her mind taking over and speaking before she could think. She wished she could of said something at least kinda cool. Like "If you don't leave, we'll tear ya a new one!"
The man laughed, "well if you must know, I am the one who's gonna persuade you to stop messing in White Fang affairs." Yang was the first to react, her thoughts clicking together. "It's a goddamn trap!" she shouted, Blake maintained silent as the man looked over at her. He grinned, a knowing grin that she couldn't mistake. Weiss charged, her rapier drawn. Idiot let his guard down. She thought, a flash later and she was no longer flying towards him, but backwards. His blade was drawn now, or more like it appeared in his hand. Only Blake was able to see the move, and even then it was blurry.
He had drawn and swung so fast that it seemed like the world was hurrying to catch up. Ruby sprinted forward, her scythe sweeping around her in a red blur. Yang rushed forward, her gloves glowing with fury.
Blake moved rushed forward. Her sword drawn and poised for a killing blow, sheathed his blade again and assumed a stance to strike, as if he had all the time in the world. The four met in a flash of hacking, slashing and swirling. The masked man countered their blows. Fighting like a demon. His blade blurred as it cleaved and parried. Ruby swung her scythe in a arc, as if splitting fire wood with a axe. The man knocked the blow aside, with all the ease of swatting a fly. Time seemed to slow as the man grinned. His blade flashed, crisscrossing back and forth and he racked Ruby's body with the flat of his blade. She fell backwards, her body erupting in pain. The man laughed as he burst forward. His sword flashing towards Yang. "I'm not so easy!" Yang called, she wasn't going to let this guy get away. She raised her hand high. Stretching and even lifting a foot off the ground.
The man slid forward, his momentum carrying him towards Yang. She grinned, "Right where I want ya!" Her fist slammed down into the ground, a shockwave forming from the impact point. Ground crumpled around her. The man flew backwards, and Blake was right there to catch him. Her sword blurred as she struck her target multiple times. Her concentration never broke as she slashed up wards, sending the man skywards. The masked man grinned; this fight was going to be more interesting than he originally thought. He spun and dropped form the sky, landing feet first onto the pavement. Weiss had recovered from her initial blow. She stood shakily; she looked at the masked figure and felt her anger boiling. She rushed forward, her rapier held low. A glyph appearing in front of her, the man didn't see her until it was t late. He grunted as he was thrown forward by a Icy force.
The glyph shattered as it made contact with the man, throwing him forward. He skidded to a stop; Ruby had also regained her feet. She rushed in from the side her scythe poised for a KO. "Enough!" The man yelled, slashing upwards and knocking Ruby's blade away. There was a fun fight, and then there was what these girls were putting up. He was done with it. Weiss charged again, preparing to finish this fight. The spun, all amusement gone from his face, it was replaced with grim determination. His word became a blur, breaking Weiss glyph and knocking her blade away. He struck her deliberately with his hilt on the back of her head. She fell onto the floor, breathing, but not getting up. Ruby saw Weiss fall. She rushed forward, trying to get to her friend. The man counted for that. The flat of his blade met her stomach; she gasped and stumbled, falling to her knees. One swift strike with his fist, and she was out cold. Yang ran at full speed, fist raised and ready. He stood back; he knew this one was dangerous. She moved in fast and close, he put his blade back in his sheath. Again with the casual speed of someone certain of victory, Yang didn't care. She was certain of pounding the dudes face in. They met in a spectacular fashion. Both fought tooth and nail. Swinging with all they were worth. Yang's fist struck with intense force. The masked man struck with quick speed. Things seemed dead even. Till the man gained an upper hand, he lowered his guard for a second. Enough for Yang to take advantage of, she swung her fist towards his head. Trying to end the fight, he grinned. She had fallen for his trap and over extended herself. His sword spun upside down, bringing the hilt into her lower chin. She staggered, gripping her jaw. Another quick strike and she was out of commission.
He turned to Blake. "You have some interesting friends. No wonder they are giving us this much trouble, Blake." He said, smiling. "Why are you doing this Adam?" Blake challenged, showing she wasn't afraid to fight him. In reality, she was terrified. She couldn't take him in a fight, they both knew that. "Ha, don't tell me you think you can take me? Us fighting? I preferred when we work together. Didn't you?" He said. Mirth gone from his voice, now he was serious. "I'm not going to fight you because I want you to remember this when your friends wake up. Step out of White Fang business, or else I'll be back, and it won't be a friendly spar." With that Adam turned form her, walking away with a satisfied grin.
Ok guys, I took this challenge from a forum and planned on putting it just on the forum, but I thought you guys might want to see it to. The fight was rigged from the start. So no complaining on who should of won. I didn't choose the victor. I hope you guys like this fight and remember to like, re
