"Please... don't. Don't go." His whisper came out of the dark, bringing goosebumps to her flesh. No one else had ever had that kind of effect on her. He was the only one that could bring out these emotions in her. She never expected him to ask her to stay. This was all becoming much more complicated than she had ever planned. "Stay. No one has to know. Or we can let everyone know. Just please, don't walk out on me again." She wanted to stay so bad it hurt.
Even in the darkness she could make out his figure. He was now sitting up in the bed, unsurprisingly shirtless. The window let in just enough light for her to see the pale white of his skin, to see his arms streched out, waiting for her to come back to him.
Against her better judgement, she slowly made her way back to the bed only minutes previously they had shared. So many memories had been made in this bed, the nights they had spent together, so many rainy days they had spent lying together, talking about everything and nothing at all.
The pale boy kissed her forehead and buried his face in her bushy brown hair. "Please 'Mione, we can figure this out. We don't have to keep pretending anymore. The War is over. We can be together now."
He was right. The War that had been fought for longer than they had both been alive was finally over. No longer did they have to live in fear. No one was out to hurt her, or her friends and family. She had found her parents, restored their memories, and life was back to normal.
Somewhat.
Instead of speaking, the girl who had been called 'Mione traced the outline of the snake and skull tattooed on the boys arm. She knew he had been forced to get it, that he had never wanted to be a part of that hideous mans army, but it was still there. A silent reminder of the agony they had all suffered.
"You know it will fade away. Look, it's already lighter than it was last time you were here." He whispered reasuringly. She had to admit, at least in her mind that he was right. She had been here a week previously and already it was begining to fade. For some reason, she had conflicting emotions about it.
"I'm scared." She finally whispered. It wasn't for the boy to hear, it was for her. She had never said the words outloud. Not once, through the entire War. And now that it was over, she could finally admit it to herself. She was more than scared really.
Tears began to flow silently from her cheeks. The turmoil that was going on in her head was something she could never explain to the boy. So instead of words, she kissed him. She kissed him like she had never kissed him before, hoping it would convey all her thoughts and emotions better than words ever would.
"I love you." He mumbled as she pulled away to look into his deep blue eyes.
"I love you too, Draco."
