A pretty little red squirrel watched as in horror as her family was killed in front of her eyes. The screams of pain and horror were falling on mute ears as she strove to block out what was happening. She felt herself getting picked up by heavy paws that gripped her roughly.

"What do we have here mates" a fox who's breath reeked spoke into her face. "A pretty little squirrel dibbun who seems to have lost her family."

The squirrel kicked and squirmed trying to escape from her captors grip. It was to tight for her to escape however and the fox slowly started to increase his grip. It was becoming harder and harder to breath and her side's hurt from the pressure. Her head felt like it was starting to spin and a blackness slowly started creeping over her eyes.

The next morning a mouse walked quietly through the scene of devastation. A spear was clutched tightly in his paws as he shook at the sight. The ground was blackened were a small burrow had been. The family, which had been smoked out, lay in various states of slaughter. The campfire the vermin had lit to cook the meat lay cold.

It was then his eyes rested on the small dibbun laying on the ground. He shuddered and averted his eyes. Next thing he knew he found himself walking over to it and crouching down. As he gently touched the body it shuddered slightly. Acting quickly he flipped it over to find the squirrels eyes clouding over. It bleed from a deep slash in its side.

The mouse realized the little squirrel would not last long if he did nothing. Tearing his tunic he pressed the cloth against her side to try and stop the bleeding. Even though he knew it was probably useless he still had to try. The bleeding started to slacken but it wasn't enough. He stopped applying pressure and staggered upwards as the dibbun died before him.

As he took a step backwards he tripped over his spear. He landed heavily on his back then sat up. Seizing out his spear he used it to get up. Slowly he walked away not looking back at the scene of death behind him.

Was tired and bored so I just started writing with no plan in mind. Ended up, coming up with this so I would appreciate your thoughts. By the way I can't write vermin accents very well so sorry about that.
