Author Note: I received inspiration to do this story from Cyndi's "Transcending Fate" story. Idk if any of you recall reading it, but I'd defiantly read that story of hers.
LOOK INTO MY EYES
You were the spawn of retribution. The creation of Earth's anger and fury toward it's dominating species. Despite how much we fought so long ago….I never ceased loving you over these millennia.
We had love during those archaic times.
Then you let yourself fall to what you were created for--destruction. The Earth's rage displayed itself through your deathly face. And I was forced to commit the most difficult act I had ever done--taking your life.
If only you had fought the darkness inside you. If only you had cherished the love you once had for me. You forced me to choose between the two things I loved most of all--you….and my people.
Now, as I see you sitting here before me face to face, you turn away from my passionate gaze, I wonder if our love is still possible. At this critical time, could we put aside our differences and protect the world together?
Look into my eyes…I say.
Reluctantly you turn and stare into my eyes, the pain of thousands of years building up inside you. The regret in your eyes of not making the better choice back during the times of old.
Let this be a sign of my everlasting love for you…I say, shedding my own scales upon your injured body.
I know the love in your heart. And you know the love in mine. Let not the slow decay of time destroy the affection we once had. As the fairies sing this song of reunion and power, remember that our shared power can defeat the most evil of manifestations.
As the Earth quakes beneath us, and the fearful cry of the destructive dragon echoes behind us--I take to the skies in your stead, knowing that I'm risking life for you.
