On January 6th, eighteen fifty-four

Somewhere in England, a baby was born.

Just an ordinary baby it seemed, nothing too grand

But one day, he would be famous throughout the land.

Europe would ring with his name,

And from all the world, people came-

Seeking his help, which he would so gladly give

For it was to help people that this man did live.

The toughest mysteries he solved, the most inexplicable codes

On his shoulders, many people dumped their loads.

Fear was struck into the hearts of criminals at the mere mention of his name

To every dark corner, bringing justice, he came.

No man did he ever fear-

The people of London knew they were safe when he was near.

Courageous, patriotic, and chivalrous was he

To every locked mystery, he held the key-

The key that led him to the truth

Proving him to be THE greatest sleuth.

Solving cases, where'ere he roams,

My friends: Here we have…
