Dean rested his elbow nonchalantly on the open window of the Chevy impala while Sam hunched himself over a map. 'Take the next right up here,' Sam looked up, noticing a sign that read 'welcome to San Diego' in bold lettering. The impala smoothly curved around the corner to present a long stretch of empty road. ''So what's the deal with this 'demon''' Sam asked sarcastically. Dean rolled his eyes and explained to Sam that he had been online, trying to find a case when he stumbled upon a website were people could upload stories of their 'paranormal experiences.' ''So I found this entry,'' Dean explained, ''It was a kid who had heard screaming from the house next door and the next time she saw the woman who lived there, she had bruises on her legs.'' Sam looked over at Dean with a look of disgusted awe, ''dude'' Sam said ''You do realise that had nothing to do with a paranormal or unexplainable circumstance or whatever right?'' Sam looked at Dean incredulously, shaking his head slightly, although a playful smile tugged at his lips.''Yeah, I get that,'' Dean explained, ''That's why we're going to investigate, why would a little kid put a story like that on a website dedicated to paranormal stuff?'' Sam sighed and leaned back his head, closing his eyes while Dean reached for the volume control to turn the music up louder.

Sam woke after being roughly, yet lovingly, jolted by Dean who was already half way out the car when Sam groggily opened his eyes. The car was parked outside a large house and while Dean casually marched up to the front door Sam waited, letting his gaze roam down the street and then back to the house in front of him. He tensed up slightly, almost imperceptibly, and headed up to join Dean at the door saying nothing.

Inside, the house was like any normal couples house. There was an open box of cereal on the breakfast bar and the man - Micah Sloat - looked up to see who was at the door. The woman Katie - looked at the two men standing at her door, which was leaning lazily against her knee. Sam cleared his throat: 'Hi there, I'm Sam and this is my brother Dean-' Dean interrupts: 'yeah and we're thinking about moving here, could we come in and ask a few questions about the neighbourhood?' He beamed a smile at the woman and quietly kicked Sam in the back of the leg, willing him to smile too.

They sat tensely in the living room with Katie giving the brothers a glare. As Micah walked over, placing two cups on the table, Katie's expression melted into one of welcome. Sam's feeling of uneasiness deepened slightly and he wiggled in his seat. Micah sat next to Katie, wrapping a protective arm around her waist and she moved in closer to his side. Dean leaned forward and began asking questions: 'so how long have you guys lived here?' Sam's gaze drifted from Micah, who was saying that they had lived there for quite some time, and to Katie, who was looking up at Micah. His gaze lowered to Katie's arm, the sleeve of her sweater had been rolled up to her elbows, revealing what looked like a large bite. His eyebrow furrowed as he studied the bite mark and suddenly after getting a chill run through his body Sam looked up and saw Katie glare at him. Something flashed in her eyes. A blackness that sent shivers down his spine. He peeled his eyes away from Katie swallowing back the lump that had formed in his throat, returning his attention to Micah who was now talking about things to do in the area.

Sam hadn't said anything since he noticed the bite mark and Dean was worried. ''Dude, what's wrong you haven't said a word, I was sure you were gonna say something when that guy mentioned horseback riding?'' Dean laughed, trying to lighten the mood and even Sam smlied momentarily but his smile quickly evaporated. ''There's something going on in ther. something bad, and dangerous.''
