The silver voiced angel, who-
With his shining golden hair
And his stormy sea eyes,
Bewitched me, sight unseen
Through all of our adventures
Into that other world.
Arguing with me all the while
As I tried to lead them on.
And, sometimes, I was right,
But mostly it was he
Who truly took the lead,
And no one else noticed.
And, throughout all of this,
I came to realize- though
I know not when, nor why,
Nor where, nor even how-
I fell in love- with you-
A boy, my rival no less.
I may be young, but my love is true-
I am yours, dear one, and-
Angel, you are mine-
You are my Israfel,
"Whose heart strings
Are a lute". I think-
No, I know- that
I love you, my dearest Israfel.
