It's been a long day, and Gibbs can tell it's taking it's toll on his senior field agent, so he decides to cut him some slack. While Tony is pounding on his laptop keyboard, frantically trying to type up his report before his fingers freeze as he waits outside with the body for Ducky, Gibbs slips off to his car and drives to a local coffee shop. He knows what Tony likes by now.

Tony looks up to see Gibbs's car pulling out of the parking lot and cannot help but feel abandoned.

"Looks like it's just you and me, buddy," he says before he can stop himself. "Oh God, now I sound like Ducky..."

When the tires crunch back into the parking lot, Tony looks up again, hopeful that McGee or Ziva have come to relieve him of his bodyguard position. He is even more relieved when he sees Gibbs approaching with a steaming cup of coffee. Tony's tired eyes light up.

"Thanks boss!" he chirps.

"Uh-huh."

Gibbs sips his own cup.

"Boss, am I dying or something?"

Gibbs shoots him a look.

"Right, sorry..."

They wait for Ducky in silence, but Gibbs never really needed words to tell Tony that he cared.
