- The Apathy of Alpha -
(Halo (c) Microsoft Studios, Bungie & related creators; Red vs. Blue (c) the Rooster Teeth team. Text (c) L.Q. Coverdale.)
And so did the mind-child swirl about
In the ocean of data and gloom;
His voice was cracked, he could not shout
In that holographic, ice-cold room.
The researchers poked and prodded,
Torment day and night;
Gamma and Omega turned and nodded,
Enjoying his look of fright.
He lost the will to think around,
And Sigma became its name;
Later would the piece bring forth pure murder
Inside the head of Maine.
He stared, apathetic, at York and Delta too
As nothing made logic
And his head was unscrewed
And everything was rather tragic.
Epsilon became his image, sadly
The blue fear he held in his mind;
He shed the son that would go out madly,
With grief and trauma in eyes blind.
Tex was there too,
Broken and put back together;
The thought of her face, Allison not true,
Was enough to put him further under the weather.
Code and routine, fire and ice,
The breakout from Avalanche rang true;
But he was already lost, paid the price,
And what was left ended up on Team Blue.
