Author's Note: I decided that it might be interesting if these one shot stories had to do with the cases, but were hidden one shot stories between The Casey Series. This one is Post-Influence, meaning that this would happen in "Saving Her"(the second book of the Casey Series).

Read and Enjoy,

"You did what you had to do" Olivia said as she gave the picture back to Casey "You saved yourself."

"Yeah but nobody saved him."

Casey looked back at Olivia, and Olivia knew that the whole case had to do with Danielle, not Charlie.

"As much as that story touches me Casey, I don't think he's the reason that the case was so hard for you."

"You think this has to you with Danielle" Casey said quietly.

"Yes I do, how is she?"Olivia asked.

"As of now, Danielle is at my apartment in her bedroom" Casey said "She may have a broken foot, but she has more than that."

"What do you mean?

"I talked to Dr.Huang and convinced him to evaluate my sister" Casey explained as she put the picture back in the drawer "Danielle has depression."

"That's why this case was hard" Olivia said "Jaime is the same age as Danielle and they both have a serious mental illness that requires therapy and medication."

"And that's what I'm having Danielle receive for treatment. All I hope is that she doesn't end up in the same situation that Jaime did. During the trial, all I could think about is 'What if Danielle wasn't taking her medication like Jaime? Would she be in the same room being prosecuted if she tried killing herself and killed an innocent bystander instead?'"

"I'm sure that Danielle would take her medication..."

"But what if she doesn't? What if she does her same suicidal stunt except instead of going into a guardrail, she goes into the sidewalk like Jaime did?"

There was an awkward silence in Casey's office. Olivia forgot that Danielle attempted suicide the same way Jaime did.

"I'm sorry,I completely forgot..."

"Don't worry. Sometimes we forget things that aren't important to them as they are to others" Casey said as she looked at the clock "I need to go. I have to go home and check on Danielle."

Both Casey and Olivia got up from their seats and when Casey grabbed her coat, Olivia could only ask one more question.

"Casey, why are you trying so hard to help Danielle? Isn't that her parent's job?" Olivia asked.

"Her parents don't give a damn, Liv. Her parents are going to family court"

"Why?"

"They're going to family court so I can have legal guardianship of Danielle. She deserves better than what they give her, and I know I can give her more than her parents ever will in a lifetime."
