Chapter 1: Welcome Amber
It was a nice spring morning at school. Spring had just started, and the students' winter vacation had just ended. They were all returning to begin the new semester, but unknowing to them, something was about to happen that could change their lives forever…
"Hey guys!" Yumi Ishiama called to her friends. She was waving her right hand while her left one was holding the strap on her book bag.
"Hey Yumi," they all greeted smiling. She smiled back and sat her book bag on the ground.
"Did you have a nice vacation?" Aelita asked curiously.
Yumi nodded and said, "We went to Japan, and I got to meet a lot of my family."
"Does that mean you want to move over there?" Ulrich asked gulping. Yumi shook her head.
"Good thing, you don't want to leave Ulrich here all alone," Odd added. Ulrich blushed and the rest laughed.
"Cut it out, Odd!"
This only encouraged laughter among the group. They were always together either at school or fighting on Lyoko. Truly, they were all best friends, but you never know if things may change…
"Hey…," Odd started pointing at a girl who was walking in the school gate, "who's that?"
The rest of them turned around. She had black shiny hair flowing half-way down her back. Her bangs swooped to one side of her face just above her eye. Her eyes were a sparkling blue color. She was wearing a pair of tight blue jeans that had a pink sequin heart design on the back pocket. These sequins covered the belt loops and the seam of the pockets on the front. Her shirt was baby pink and had a silver heart design on the front.
"Hmm… Something tells me that she is bad news," Jeremy stated putting a finger to his chin.
"Well, too late for Odd," Ulrich said laughing slightly. Jeremy only sighed.
Odd was standing at her side already starting conversation. "Hi there, I'm Odd. I can show you around campus if you want."
The girl smiled and nodded her head. "That would be nice. My name is Amber."
They began to walk away, just then the wind picked up. It blew enough until Amber's shirt came up slightly. There was a black mark on her lower back.
"That looks like Xana's symbol!" Jeremy shouted pointing at Amber.
