I Am Not What You Think

God! I am sophisticated!

Locked in a world of illusions and lies,

Where money talks and sins are rated.

I am a woman who rarely cries.

My heart is not made of purest gold.

I am cynical, not innocent.

With sadness my heart has grown old,

And all my hopes have been spent.

I have learned my face is a jewel,

And to society my thoughts of no price,

And though ignoring my mind is cruel,

Society's rule is a necessary vice.

And so all your dreams will fall and sink,

For I am not what you think.
