Summary: Lucy, Natsu and Happy embark on a long journey up an icy mountain, and Lucy starts to feel a little cold…

Pairings: NatsuxLucy

Author's Note: I have had a lot of ideas for one-shots lately, so I've decided to make a whole big thingy out of them. If you get what I'm saying. SO here's the first one, inspired by one of my favorite author's (RicardianScholar Clark-Weasley) one-shot story thingy, Tales of Fairies (you guys should read it, it's a lot better than my crap.) But anyway, hope you enjoy, and I present you, my first one-shot of a many!

Natsu, Lucy, and Happy continued their trek up the freezing mountain. Why they always ended up climbing ice mountains, Lucy had no idea. But this time, she had come prepared. With four layers of jackets and warm pants, Lucy expected her days of shivering in the freezing cold were over. But no. As prepared as she thought she was, as much time as she had spent picking out the warmest outfits she had, Lucy had forgotten gloves. Her hands, which had numbed out about an hour ago, were tucked under the arms of her pink coat. But that didn't stop the now blue fingers from shivering underneath the fuzzy fabric.

Lucy stared in envy at the blue exceed and dragon slayer, who continued walking up the snowy mountain without the slightest indication that they were even a little cold. She huffed, and returned back to her same position: hands tucked under her arms and ears tucked between her shoulders. They were nowhere near the top, and Lucy already felt like an icicle.

"W-Why don't we make camp for the night?" Lucy muttered, dreams of a hot fire and warm blankets filling her mind. Natsu, who had gotten quite far ahead of her, turned around and looked at her.

"But it's not even dark out!" Natsu whined, wanting to reach the top as soon as possible. Lucy glared at him. There was no way anything was going to steal her warmth from her. She glanced up at the sky, hoping that it would help save her from the harsh weather. They were surrounded by a light blizzard, so it was difficult to see the color of the sky, but Lucy could tell the sun would probably be setting in about 30 minutes.

Lucy's eyes rested back on her best friend. She was just about to share her newfound information when a certain blue-haired cat interjected, a mischievous grin resting on his face.

"She wants to make camp because she's too fat and tired to move on," Happy purred. Lucy froze for a second, in complete shock that the cat was so damn stupid. She was just about to pounce on him when Natsu crossed his arms over his chest and nodded his head in agreement.

"Yeah, you're right, Happy. C'mon Luce, there's a cave over there we can rest in." Lucy would've murdered both of them if it wasn't for the fact that she could finally warm up again.

Lucy inched her hands closer to the fire Natsu had created. But they were still shaking and blue, and no matter how close to the fire she placed her hands, they didn't become any warmer. She shifted so the large blanket that she had draped over her shoulders didn't fall off, for she didn't want to take her hands away from the unhelpful warmth of the fire.

Natsu, who sat lazily near the warm fire, glanced at Lucy's blue hands. His eyes instantly softened in concern, and all anger he felt towards her for making them stop instantly fanished. He got up and walked closer to the fire, sitting down next to Lucy.

Natsu enveloped his warm hands around Lucy's shivering fingers, and he began running circles with his thumb on the back of her hand. Lucy gasped. His hands warmed hers much faster than the fire's, and she was extremely grateful for the heat that was radiating off of his body.

"Idiot." Natsu muttered, eyes focusing on Lucy's hands. "Why didn't you bring gloves?" He stated playfully, glancing up at his freezing best friend.

"I forgot." She returned, avoiding eye contact with her source of warmth. Natsu laughed, the sound echoing throughout the icy cave.

"You didn't bring gloves either!"

Natsu laughed even harder, a stomach clenching laugh. "Because I can keep myself warm. You are really weird sometimes."

Lucy glanced up at Natsu, whose laughter had suddenly vanished. The dimming fire set a shadow on him that made him look, as much as Lucy hated thinking it, very sexy. She swallowed, teeth sinking into her bottom lip as thoughts that shouldn't be in her head entered. Natsu's eyes darkened, quickening her already racing heart.

"You're freezing, Luce, you're lips are practically blue." Lucy could feel her frozen face flush, the horrible thoughts flashing in her mind like a movie.

"I can't help it," Lucy murmered, "I'm not a fire mage like you," Natsu's hooded eyes darted down to Lucy's 'practically blue' lips, before returning to her wide eyes.

"Come closer." Natsu whispered huskily, sending shivers, that had nothing to do with the cold, down her spine. But she obeyed, leaning in closer to Natsu's warmth. "Maybe I can help…" He whispered, his hot breath warming up Lucy's lips. Lucy's heart raced in her chest as they came closer… closer… closer…

"You likkkkeeeee each other!" Happy purred with a roll of his tongue. Lucy started to jump back, scared out of her wits because she had no idea Happy was even here. But Natsu just grabbed her and pulled her to his chest, wrapping his arm protectively around her shoulders.

"Whatever, Happy." Natsu said, his sexy voice replaced with a bored tone. Lucy had finally gotten over her near-heart failure, and was now leaning into Natsu's warmth, mentally cursing the stupid cat for ruining a perfect moment.

The rest of the trip was spent without a sexy Natsu and with an annoying whining cat, who couldn't get over the fact that Natsu had paid no mind to him that night, and kept all of his attention on Lucy. But of course, the sun was beginning to set again, (What? It's a big mountain!) and Lucy was starting to feel a little cold...
