Rose Lalonde/Sollux Captor Compensating for something.
Sollux Captor would never brag about being extremely good at picking up chicks. He wasn't bad and he definitely wasn't as pathetic as Eridan, one of his more lonley, desperate friends, but he had made his fair share of mistakes in that area of expertise. The worst one to speak of would be his attempt at flirting with Rose Lalonde. Sollux had seen her before, when he had been at the house of Dave Strider. Dave was one of Sollux's good friends and also happened to be Rose's step- brother. Rose had been leaving so Sollux had seen no chance so far to speak with her. Much to his pleasure, he spotted her on a sunny, Monday afternoon in a park. He had been walking around the pathways, looking for gullible chicks, when he had noticed her sitting on one of the benches, typing something at a rapid pace. He had always had a thing for blondes and was looking for someone to fool around with, what could go wrong? That was plausibly the worst idea ever. The problem being, she was completely uninterested in his advances, his pickup lines, the ones he worked to improve for hours, had failed him.
"Hey beautiful, how about a little company?" take into consideration, the fact that nothing sounds quite as charming with a lisp. The blonde girl didn't bother to look up, as she seemed very preoccupied with whatever she was doing on her laptop. So regardless of how the little voice in his head told him to go away, he sat down next to her on the bench and attempted to sneak a glance at what she was so preoccupied with. This, she picked up on immediately and closed the laptop, turning her gaze to the brown haired boy. "Is there something you need help with?" she asked him politely, with only a hint of annoyance at being disturbed. Sollux took this lack of malice as a sign to continue with his advances. "I need thome directionth." "To where?" she seemed a little less irritated, knowing he only wanted directions. "To your heart." He said with a smirk on his lips. Her expression immediately changed to one of boredom, which was surprising considering the usual reactions are irritated and pleased, though on more occasions the former. "Well I'm sure directions to my heart wouldn't prove useful, seeing as it's in my chest." "Can I feel your chetht? Jutht to be thure." Now her expression turned to one of annoyance. She collected her stuff and rose from the bench, and the offending man followed her up. She turned towards him "all of your cheesy pickup attempts are giving me the impression that you are compensating for something, throwing 'slick' ", the girl stated using air quotes, "moves at a girl before getting to know her shows a lack of confidence." Then she kissed him. It was short, little more than a peck. He froze, completely taken by surprise. She then pulled away and with a smirk on her lips she told him "My assumptions were correct, probably compensating for the fact that you're a horrible kisser. Oh and sorry, but I'm a lesbian." With that said she turned and walked away, leaving the boy standing dumbfounded in the park.
