I was extremely bored and surreptitiously ignoring housework, so I created a test for myself.

I wanted to see if I could explore Alice's character more deeply…in 200 words exactly (which is not including my author's note).

It took more effort than I expected, and I hope I was able to capture and explain Alice's essence. I always wondered if there is more to her attention to the future than just her gift…so, I came up with a fairly probable reason.

Enjoy,

I live immersed in the present and future. I plan so meticulously, monitoring the future with an omniscient eye. I carefully scrutinize each minuscule step and the torrent of changes it may produce in many potential futures.

From a bystander perspective, I seem like a know-it-all, determined to be unsurprised and constantly twisting the future to suit my own needs.

In reality, I thrive off my vigilance towards the future. I need it. The times when the extraordinarily supernatural interferes with my voyeurism are simply torture.

You see, I was forced to rebuild my past and start my life from a rebirth that offered no precedence. For that reason alone, I must know that I will always have a future. I'm creating an endless stream of memories and possibilities to supplant those I may have had—but are hidden from me.

I spent my first years of life wandering through the present, but living in the future. Since then I have learned to not dwell on the past, to embrace the present and to relish the future. But it does not stop my fervent guard of everyone's future, because I was not able to protect my own past…from being erased.

P.S. If anyone wants to write a drabble on a character in 200 words (THIS IS NOT A CONTEST JUST A CURIOUS AUTHOR) I would love to hear it.

And of course—Please review!
