AN: Major inspiration for this story came from: Local legends, SCPs, and looking out at a snow covered area and thinking "Shit it'd suck to have zombies in snow!" This is a rewrite of a previous fic, now deleted, and will hopefully be a lot better than that one ever could be. Now the next few chapters are going to be build up before shit hits the fan, and canon characters probably won't make appearances for a while. That being said, I felt the building up was necessary, rather than to get halfway through the story and spout exposition like a fountain. Another note, if you are squeamish, or don't like seeing your favorite characters broken, beaten black, and scarred, this probably isn't for you. There will be gore, cursing, and other sensitive topics. At this point I don't think there will be any sexual content, but that is subject to change. Warnings of any explicit content will be placed above the chapters they are contained in. One last thing, this fic will include the StevexClaire pairing, but not in the way I have normally seen portrayed. If you do not like StevexClaire, please direct yourself to the back button on your browser, however I hope you can look past that, and enjoy a relatively romance free fic.

Enjoy,

-Tama

Urban legends are today's mythology. Creatures such as Bigfoot. The yeti, and Mothman will forever be a part of the lore of the modern era. Whether these monsters actually exist or not is subject to much debate. Many cyptozoologists have hunted for these creatures since the first shaky, blurry pictures surfaced. All of these efforts, however, have yielded little results, and are subjected to scientific scrutiny.

Those who have seen still believe, despite science's dismissal. Story's from intoxicated young adults still trickle in at times, always raising the question of the creature's existence.

In small towns, such as Bakersville Montana, a town surrounded with superstition, and ancient legends passed down from the Native American tribes, any report of a sighting of their urban legend causes widespread panic. Kidnappings and murders are blamed solely on the monster, a creature which few have seen, yet many swear is real. The snow covered town lives under the thumb of terror, a terror of something that may not even exist.

But like with every urban legend, only those who have seen the monster truly believe its existence. And those who live outside of Bakersville, dismiss it as the paranoid ramblings of a few drunken yokels.

That is until people started dying in the dead, white forests.
