Chapter 1
"I hate it here I hate it," yelled BJ slamming the door while running up the stairs. "You don't have to stay here. I can put your ass right on the street," said her aunt. She was living with her aunt since she was 12 years old because her mother got sent to jail for child neglect for her and her little brother. Her mother came home late on night drunk and her little brother was crying and he wouldn't stop. "Shut up," she said, "shut up." BJ was hiding under the table. Then her brother got quiet all of a sudden. Her mother walked out and BJ walked in. She thought her brother was asleep but she tried to wake him up and he wouldn't. Then she started to smell smoke. She looked out the bedroom door and saw lots of flames. She ran out the house as fast as she could. Then the fire trucks came to put out the fire. Then she saw a body covered by a white sheet. She knew it was her little brother. Her mother was no where to be found. But she saw the neighbor talking to the police about how their mother treats them. He sent them to live with her aunt, who she hates, until they had a trial. Then their stay became permanent because their mother got sent to jail for child neglect
