Man, I've got a true dilemma... The Tanabata festival's coming up really soon, but... I don't have a date... Kyousuke wants me to go with him and Shizuki-san, but without a girl to bring with me, I'm just a third wheel! Dammit, what to do?

Well, it can't be THAT hard to just ask around class, can it? Now that I think about it, everyone always tells Kyousuke and me that we've hit the jackpot of the second-year classes. If Kyousuke can get Shizuki-san, I can do this!

"Yo, Kaname-san!"

"Oh, good afternoon! Nakazawa-kun... you're friends with Sayaka-chan, right?"

"Y-yeah... Anyway, the Tanabata festival's coming up soon, and I wanted to know if... you'd wanna come as my date?"

"Date!? W-well... um... that sounds nice, but... I've already made plans to go with my family. It's Tatsuya's first Tanabata festival... I'm sorry!"

Well, that didn't go the way I'd hoped. I mean, the transfer student's pretty cute, and I'd heard they're a lot more casual about this kinda thing in America... well, it's fine! Besides, I'm sure she was telling the truth about her family; Kaname-san's not the sort to make things up... right?
