But nearly half of the people weren't having such a good time, because of the loud construction site not too far away. Part of it was the noise, and the other part was the stinky smoke.
The road was damaged and needed to be repaired. Lumpy was hammering down a piece of road, when he threw the hammer up too hard and it flew through the sky.
Nutty was walking by, eating some ice cream when the hammer smashed into his skull, knocking his brain out and blood splashing on the ground.
His body fell down, blood still pouring out of his head when Pop and Cub were taking a jog. Pop was minding his business, enjoying the heat while Cub saw the bloody hammer near Nutty's body. Curious as always, he ran over and picked it up, not paying any attention to the mess on the ground.
Pop looked down to check on his son, then spotted him playing with the hammer in the road. And a truck was headed right towards him, . As usual, Pop freaked out, and ran over to pick up his son.
He grabbed him and ran back to the sidewalk, sighing a big sigh of relief. But due to him and Cub in the street, the truck driver, Petunia, took a sharp turn and rammed into the sidewalk, along with Pop and Cub, as their organs flew out everywhere.
Back at the construction site, a very confused Lumpy was looking for his hammer. Having no luck, he sighed and turned around, seeing Nutty's body.
He gasped and screamed, calling for help. But nobody could hear over the noise of the construction.
So instead he took a broom and swept the body into a garbage can.
Giggles skipped down the sidewalk, singing happily to herself, until she saw the crash, and slipped on Pop's brain.
"AHHHHH!!" Giggles screamed at the gruesome sight. She tried to calm herself down and get help, but then she saw the bloody hammer on the ground. "Huh?" She said, picking it up. Did this cause the crash? She shrugged and put it in her pocket, just in case.
So she walked around the large accident scene and started singing to herself again, but Sniffles was nearby, testing out his latest invention, a giant magnet. He turned towards Giggles, and the top of the hammer was attracted to the magnet. It pulled and pulled but Giggles desperately hung onto the ground.
"AH! AHHHH!!" She kicked and screamed until the magnet was so powerful, it ripped her skin off.
Sniffles got the bloody hammer, along with some pink skin.
He picked the hammer up. He just sighed and tossed it over his shoulder. But the magnet was turned towards it, so it just came back and impaled his chest, his heart dangling out.
Toothy was out for a walk when he saw Sniffles' body. He gasped, and almost started crying, but he saw the hammer in his chest. He ripped it out and looked over at the still very bored and confused Lumpy, trying to find his hammer.
Toothy smiled and walked over to him. "Here ya go!" He said, handing the hammer to Lumpy "Ah, thank you." You could slightly hear Lumpy say. He was going to turn around and continue his work, but he accidently tripped on a rock, and fell down on Toothy.
Lumpy slowly got up, rubbing his head. He looked down at Toothy, and the hammer caught in his eye. Lumpy looked down and saw all the blood on his body. "AHH!" He screamed. He grabbed the hammer out of Toothy's eye and was going to run away, but he slipped on Toothy's blood and cracked his head open.
