A/N: I hope I can keep writing fluff with these two. They're just so cute.

The question, in a way, came out of nowhere, completely surprising her. Marceline wasn't one for the soft, squishy parts of a romance, but occasionally Bonnibel was taken aback by these moments.

"When did you fall in love with me?" was a simple enough inquiry, and Bonnibel thought for sure she could answer it quickly enough. She had a very good memory, a good recall, and just as she was about to give her girlfriend an answer, a different answer popped into her thoughts, and then another. Odd.

So Bonnibel considered: Was it the time Marceline flew halfway across Ooo to pick up a specimen for her newest research? Bubblegum understood why she was so happy to go, as usually the princess relied on Finn and this was a grand opportunity to show off, but she'd returned so tired and so proud that Bonni didn't have the heart to tell her it was the wrong one.

Perhaps, it was a time after that, when they were making their way through Bonnibel's castle together. Distracted in their conversation, Bonni's foot slipped and Marceline caught her just in time, sweeping her off the steps and into secure arms. Bonnibel didn't recall feeling as much like a princess ever until that day. She'd felt the heat in her cheeks bloom under Marceline's ever-so-confident gaze as they held each other tight. Even now, thinking back, that moment caused a small smile.

No, there was a time even after then, Bonnibel remembered, that she had been serenaded by the vampire. It was a cold night and everyone was already asleep, but Marceline had a song for Bonni and she was adamant that Bonni hear it right then. The princess was touched by the song, almost to tears, and it was the first night she insisted, practically commanded, that Marceline stay the night, the whole night.

A time before all of these instances came to mind, then. In bed with the FlufferNutter Flu, Bonnibel hadn't seen the vampire in days. Just as the sun peeked in her window to signal in a new day, a knock resounded and a guest let themselves in through that same window. Marceline closed the curtains, shed her daylight gear, and went to Bonnibel's bedside. Bonni's smile grew now as she thought about it. Marceline wasn't able to hide her worry well, and Bonnibel remembered a moment as she was breaking her fever where Marceline leaned in to place a gentle kiss on her forehead. Being that they were not yet in a relationship, it came as a shock to Bonnibel that her usually boorish friend would show such tenderness.

Still, Bonnibel could recall loving Marceline at all these points, so when was it that she fell for Marceline? In the absence of a quick answer, Marceline grew impatient. "Bonnibel?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. The princess' heart gave a familiar flutter.

It dawned on her suddenly, and she could have chided herself for not realizing it sooner. She smiled at the vampire and placed her hand over the top of Marceline's, tracing her first two fingertips gently over Marceline's knuckles. She provided her answer, "I fell for you the first time I heard you say my name."

Marceline's eyes widened first, but then she smiled. Leaning in close, kissed Bonnibel's lips softly and said it again.
