My head...
What the Hell happened last night?
It takes awhile before I can finally manage to force open my cemented eyes, my unwillingness to face the world again for another day.
You can't really blame me for not wanting get up. Especially you 'Get-Up-N-Go' people. You annoy me. You eat your special twenty-calorie super-duper healthy crappy tasting fruity-tuity shake in the mornings, excise twice a day at the local gym, then go to bed nine thirty at night. I'm lucky if I get to bed at one in the morning.
Sorry. I'm rambling.
I groan as I turn over, covering my pounding head with a pillow, willing my head to go back to sleep until the pounding stopped.
"Wakey-wakey, Guardian..."
Damn it.
"Come on, baby. Time to get up..."
Something rubs my bare back slowly, gently digging into my muscles with a somewhat relaxing rhythm. I groan, pulling the pillow tighter against my head.
"...don't want to...too early..." I moan, my voice coming across muffled even to my ears.
"Come on, Red. The Constable's waiting for you."
I sigh in defeat. Fine. I except she wouldn't leave me alone until I got up.
With a grimace, I sit up, giving the self-proclaimed Alarm Clock a glare.
With a quiet chuckle, she leans over and pecks me on the lips, drawing out the small moment of contact.
I sigh again into the small kiss, drawing her petite frame closer to me. She giggles, giving me a lop-sided smile as I pin her to the bed, grinning a half-asleep knave grin. I kiss her, willing her to join me. After a moment she does, kissing back into my lips, entangling her slim fingers through my mussed hair, over my shoulders and stroking my neck, relaxing and alluring at the same time.
"Not now, Knux," she giggles, breaking the spell. "We've both got work to do."
I groan, an exaggerated gesture as I roll from the bed, landing on my haunches on the floor. She smiled at me as I stand and stretch, yawning loudly.
"The Constable called about fifteen minutes ago," she says, standing up from the bed.
I merely grunt. I really hate my job sometimes.
