I showed this to Len and she decided that the ship is now called Double Daddy Tensai. -Rin
Tezuka Kunimitsu and his husband Shusuke had adopted a little girl a few years ago. Her name was Ayana, and by this time she was four. Shusuke had become the stay at home parent, while Kunimitsu continued to work.
Kunimitsu was on his way home from work, having gotten off early. He hadn't told Shusuke and Ayana he was coming, so he was hoping to surprise them. He was walking home, as he always did. It was a nice day, maybe he would take Ayana to the park later.
When Kunimitsu reached his house, he unlocked the door as quietly as possible and went inside. Rather than calling out to tell his family he was home, as he usually would, he slipped off his shoes and silently went looking for them.
He heard voices coming from Ayana's room, so he followed them. It sounded like Ayana was playing some sort of game. When she reached the room, Kunimitsu stopped in the doorway and stared at the scene before him.
When he'd left for work that morning, Shusuke had been wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants. Now he had a frilly pink tutu over the pants, a tiara on his head, a hot pink feather boa, and a pair of glittery fairy wings on his back.
Shusuke was sitting at a child-sized table in a tiny chair, across from Ayana. The table was set with a pink and purple plastic tea set. As Kunimitsu took in the spectacle, Ayana noticed him in the doorway.
"Daddy!" She hopped up from her chair and ran to hug his leg. Shusuke watched, amused. "Welcome home, Mitsu." Ayana tugged on Kunimitsu's shirt until he picked her up.
"What are you two doing?" She giggled.
"We're having a tea party! Mommy's the Fairy Queen." Shusuke nodded and waved a little pink wand with ribbons on it at Kunimitsu.
"Isn't he pretty? He's all sparkly!" Kunimitsu nodded.
"He looks very nice." Ayana gasped and clapped her hands.
"Oh! Daddy, you can be the princess!" She squirmed until he put her down, then ran off to her dress-up box, digging around until she found a frilly dress several sizes too small for Kunimitsu, a pair of light pink gloves, and a matching tiara.
"Here, wear these! You can sit by the dragon." Ayana pointed to a stuffed animal in one of the chairs. Kunimitsu looked at his daughter, at how excited she was, and sighed quietly to himself. He couldn't say no.
When he was "pretty" enough for Ayana, the "princess" was allowed to sit by the dragon, whose name was apparently Mister Sparkles. Shusuke the Fairy Queen grinned at him.
"How nice of you to join us, your highness."
