Chapter 1: Brooke's Tragedy
"Watch out Brooke!" Val exclamied.
Val was out driving with Brooke. They were going to see the movies, something Val hadn't done much since her daughter was born.
However, what neither of them saw was the car heading straight for them. The driver was drunk, and was driving up the wrong side of the road. With a boom, a crash, and a bang, it hit their car.
The Air-bags billowed out of the front, and Val's first rection was that she would die, and her three year old daughter, Barbara, would be motherless, and Tyler, her husband, would be a widower.
From across town, the EMTs came to the call.
Brooke had died on impact. The driver of the other car was paralyzed and would be for the rest of his life.Val ended up with a large cut on her head, but it was repaired with stitches.
Val stood by Brooke's bed until the doctor announced 'Time of Death'. Val began to sob, and Tyler comforted her. Val went to tell her mom and dad about Brooke and they all cried together.
Tyler called Nick up. Nick and Brooke had been married once, and had had a 3 year old daughter, Susie, but Nick and Brooke had divorced shortly after. Nick, however, still had feelings for Brooke, and though Nick tried to care for Susie, he couldn't deal with it emotionally. Val and Tyler offered to take her in.
Chapter 2: Susie's life
Ten years later...
Susie lived a very normal life, though the thought of her parents made her sad. She saw her dad occasionally, but only on holidays.
Susie took dance (ballet, jazz, tap, and hip-hop). She was active in many other things, including cheerleading, newspaper, and choir. She was the most popular girl in her school, and loved to talk with her friends, and go to the mall. She even had a boyfriend. Her cousin, Barbara, who was the same age, was her best friend forever.
Barbara and Susie were both Girl Scouts and at father/daughter dances, Nick took Susie, and Tyler takes Barb, but Susie still felt like she has an empty space in her heart To make up for it, she tried to be just like her mother. And though Susie liked living with Val and Tyler, she wished she lived with Nick.
Chapter 3: Nick's Surpise
On Susie's 15th birthday, Nick asked Val and Tyler if he could move in next door (the house was for sale)and asked if Susie could live with him. They OK. Nick asked Susie and she said she would be more than happy to. She moved in that weekend and Val and Tyler were happy that that Nick finally had the strength to care for his daughter. Susie and Nick looked at colleges and picked out the one that she and Barbara wanted to go to. The day had come. Susie went to college with Barbara and her boyfriend Josh. Susie still missed her mother but she kept reminding herself she would see her someday. Susie kissed her family goodbye and got in the car and drove to college.
