"Roxy! There you are!" Axel exclaimed as the young blonde walked toward him with his head hung. "Where were you? I thought… Hey, are you okay?" Axel asked, noticing the blonde was quieter than usual. Roxas tried to nod, but his head would move; he was too upset. The younger Nobody sat on the ledge of the Clocktower, where he and his red haired friend ate sea salt ice cream almost every day. The fire wielder sat beside him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, Roxas… " Axel began softly, but Roxas shrugged his hand away.

"Why am I here, Axel? And don't lie." Roxas demanded in a saddened whisper. Axel was silent for a moment. This was information that he was not allowed to share with Roxas, but if Roxas demanded it…

"To make us stronger…" Axel said, trying his best not to say anything about Sora. "We need you here so that we can all have hearts; so that we can have feelings."

"So, I'm being used?" Roxas snapped, mumbling. Axel frowned a bit.

"Of course not, Roxy; you're the most important one here! Why, you're the only way to help us succeed; that's why you're so important to us!"

"Important? Or I am just here to keep Sora away?" Roxas yelled, jumping up to stand on the edge of the Clocktower.

"Roxas! Be careful!" Axel yelled, trying to grab for the blonde, who backed away quickly. Axel's "heart" raced as his friend got closer to the edge.

"Why, Axel?" Roxas yelled. "So that you guys can use me and then send me into a deep sleep like Sora? I don't want to be connected to Sora; I want to be my own person! My heart is my own; no one else's!"

"Roxas, wait! Don't jump!" Axel reasoned. He stood and got off of the ledge, mentally preparing himself to catch Roxas if he tried to jump. "You are important, Roxy… You're my best friend. I care about you so much."

"You can't care! We don't have hearts!" Roxas exclaimed.

"Well then explain to me why I love you!" Axel shouted. A dead silence followed Axel's words. He immediately clamped his mouth shut.

"L…Love…?" Roxas muttered. A small warm breeze ruffled his hair and cloak. Axel stayed silent and nodded slightly.

"I…I'm sorry, Roxas… I know you don't believe—"Axel's sentence was suddenly cut short when Roxas jumped on him. The blonde leapt on Axel, causing the pyro to fall to the ground. "R-Roxas…! Wh-What are you doing?" Axel exclaimed.

"I love you too, Axel… I've always loved you." Roxas mumbled as he buried his face in Axel's chest. Axel wrapped his arms around Roxas and pulled him closer. Roxas looked up at Axel and their lips met in a chaste kiss.

"You're not Sora… You can be your very own person. You can stay here and I'll love you forever." Roxas smiled.

"Really, Axel?" Roxas muttered.

"Yup," Axel smiled. "When we get our hearts, we can be Somebodies together… Got it memorized?" Roxas chuckled slightly.

"Yeah, Axel… I got it memorized…" Roxas muttered before kissing Axel again.
