-1It's been said that no one ever really gets a clear look at the Special Victims Unit. Whether it's because the detectives rarely, if ever, give up details about their personal lives, or because that's just the way the unit is, no one knows. And it's highly doubted within the city that anyone wants to know.
It's complicated, some say. It's something that most couldn't understand, even if they tried. After all, the unit is a volunteer unit, because of the nature of the crimes they handle. The department watched the four of them walk in. And they wait for the day when the four of them walk out. But it's been seven years since the lineup in place was solidified, and none of them have gone anywhere. Sure, they've worked with other squads, but when the temporary assignment is over, it's back to their own precinct…back to their own beat.
And it's for this reason that some remark that the unit is like a puzzle, one that has some of the pieces missing. The city gets a look, but never a whole one, and never the same one whenever they bother to look in.
