Reminiscent.
For their one year anniversary, they went back to Dalton.
They located the stairs where they first met, with Blaine at the foot of them, and Kurt halfway down. They beamed at each other, lost in the moment. It was quite like the first time, considering the bustle around them didn't cease at all.
But two hours ago, they had stood in Blaine's bedroom, dressing up in their uniforms and singing songs from Moulin Rouge – specifically Come What May; because hey – it was their one year anniversary.
"Seasons may change, winter to spring, but I love you to the end of time," Blaine had sung, his hand gracing over the collar of Kurt's shirt, a grin on his lips the entire time.
Then they had danced; the music swelling in the background. Giggles from both of them filled the room after the music faded out, with Blaine wrapped up in a loving embrace from Kurt. Blaine tilted his head back and pressed a soft kiss to Kurt's cheek, then skillfully twirled around and kissed his lips.
"I love you."
Needless to say, about twenty minutes later, their blazers were shrugged on (Kurt's outfit the same as the year before – blatantly wrong jacket and all), their fingers were intertwined, and they were out the door and into Kurt's Navigator.
Alright. So there was the issue of class.
Kurt had called his dad to let him know, and surprisingly, with a "you two kids have fun," they were off the hook. Blaine's parents encouraged a visit to Dalton. The day was just getting better.
Kurt's hand found its way to Blaine's on the drive over to Westerville, and they simply held for the duration of the ride. They sang over songs that Blaine chose, and when the beginning notes of Teenage Dream began to play, Kurt snuck a glance at Blaine with a blush. Blaine grinned at his boyfriend knowingly, then proceeded to launch into the silliest rendition of Teenage Dream that Kurt had ever heard. Even worse than that time Blaine – never mind.
They found themselves in Westerville soon. They hurried to the third floor, located the stairwell, got into the appropriate positions (Blaine digging his pocket watch out from his pocket and Kurt practicing his bewildered look), and then got into action.
Blaine went down first, with Kurt following after.
"Oh, excuse me? Um hi, can I ask you a question? I'm new here," Kurt said promptly after removing his black sunglasses.
Blaine giggled at the serious look on Kurt's face, then simply grinned and said: "My name's Blaine."
Kurt smiled shyly, "Kurt."
Blaine winked. "Let's run through the halls dramatically."
Kurt laughed. "That is definitely not what you said!"
Blaine smirked, adding, "Come on! It'll be great. My right hand will be holding your right hand ever so awkwardly, and I'll drag you along dutifully as you try to look around and keep up at the same time."
"Ooh, very enticing," Kurt murmured, taking a step closer to his boyfriend.
"And then I'll be charming and sing to you," Blaine continued.
"Oh, yes, because patting my collar and telling me not to forget my jacket was ever so charming." Kurt stated, biting his lip.
"And then we'll sing flirty duets, you'll confess your like for me, I'll be an idiot—" Kurt snorted. "Then I'll realize that I was an idiot and get my act together…"
"Skipping ahead, are we?"
"And then we'll practice our kissing techniques, drink lots of coffee, say our first 'I love you's, be a very happy couple, etcetera," Blaine finished triumphantly.
"I don't even want to know what was included in that 'etcetera'."
Blaine grinned charmingly. "Take my hand?"
Kurt turned a pale pink and nodded. Blaine's hand found his, their eyes met, and they kissed.
When they broke apart, their faces were flushed and happy.
"Happy Anniversary, Blaine."
"Happy Anniversary, Kurt."
