Prologue

With an arrow of holy light, the final blow was struck. Suddenly, after a century of imprisonment Zelda was freed of Ganon's grasp. The twisted monster that was once Ganon roared in fury at the princess as she peacefully stood on the fields of Hyrule. The monster realizing his imminent demise took to the sky as a dragon of malice and hatred in their most pure form. The dragon charged down out of the sky his eyes set on Zelda only to be turned away by the aura of goddess Hylia that surrounded her. Zelda then with all the power in her being by the will of Hylia summoned her sealing power. The Triforce that had fallen into mere legend for millennia then revealed itself and pressed Ganon into a singular point sealing him away.

Link, standing in awe felt an overwhelming sense of peace overcome him. The skies that had for moment turned to the color of blood had returned to a welcoming blue. Zelda, then returned from her ethereal state to herself in the flesh not aging a day. Link trying to maintain his composure walked to her slowly hiding the injuries he had sustained from his epic battle. Zelda sensing his presence then said. "I've been keeping watch over you all this time... I've witnessed your struggles to return to us as well as your trials in battle... I always thought, no I always believed, you would find a way to defeat Ganon. I never lost faith in you over these many years... Thank you, Link... the hero of Hyrule... May I ask... Do you really remember me?"

"Yes, princess." Link said softly after a long silence.

Zelda felt a sense relief overcome her and made a smile brighter than sunshine. She then ran to Link and held him in a warm embrace a century overdo.

Link after intially being taken aback then returned the gesture and held her tight. "I'm sorry" Link said feeling guilt consume him.

"It's not your fault." Zelda said to him. They held one another in relief that the Calamity had been defeated but also in grief of what they had lost.

After some time Zelda let go of him. Link still in pain faltered. "Link, are you alright?! Are you injured?!" Zelda uttered in fear of losing him again.

"I, I am alright. I just need some rest princess."

"Promise me, you won't leave me again." Zelda said with a tear in her eye.

"I promise."
