Comforting Love
Jack had gone. He'd just left. And Gwen had no idea what do. Owen being second in command had taken over Torchwood. Tosh had become even more quiet and just did her work and left at the end of the day. Ianto looked the same but Gwen knew different. She'd caught him clutching one of Jack's shirts and crying.
He'd been embarrassed at first but Gwen had just cuddled up to him and by the end they wore both sitting there holding each other with Jack's shirt in the middle and tears falling down their faces. Jack's disappearance had the biggest effect on them as they'd both loved him.
Gwen was glad though that she had Ianto. Every night they'd sit together and have take away and chat. It was comfortable and nice. She didn't have Rhys anymore. He'd broken up with her three days after Jack had left. She'd gone to Ianto for comfort and he'd given it to her.
The next day she'd woken up curled against his chest. It had felt so good, she hadn't wanted to move. As the days went past, it had become a kind of routine. Sometimes he'd come over to her place and sometimes she'd go over to his. Once she'd even called him in the middle of the night and he'd come when she'd told him about her nightmare.
He'd told her he loved once after they'd returned to his place after a movie they'd seen. She'd said she'd loved him too. He'd smiled at her and she'd smiled back as he lowered his face so his lips met hers. It had been a sweet kiss. It had been a lovely night.
She knew he still loved Jack. And she still did as well. They'd still wait for him. But they were going to do it together. This in itself was a great comfort. To know that they weren't alone but that they had a hand to hold. And they'd live in their own little world. Full of comfort and love.
