Broken
Kiba is broken, Hige sometimes thinks.
He rarely speaks, but his blue eyes tell tales of hardship and heartbreak, of loneliness and sorrow, of burned forests and lost childhoods. He has a story, Hige knows, he just prefers not to tell it. Or perhaps he would like to tell it, but not to Hige.
Hige sometimes feels his alpha is lost, fallen into a dark abyss he cannot rise from, but can only fall farther.
When he thinks this, he reminds himself of Kiba's steadfast determination and wonders if the white wolf jumped into the abyss, thinking it will lead him to his paradise and unable to convince himself to turn back.
Whatever the case, Kiba is broken.
Hige likens him to shattered glass. Broken, but sharp. He has seen for himself the damage Kiba can do, the sheer violence he is capable of.
He supposes it is strange then, that he loves him. Hige has never liked sharp objects. Weapons are of little interest to him, probably due to his laidback and nonviolent nature, so different from Kiba's personality.
Perhaps he can love him because Hige is unable to lay any blame on the white wolf for his cold, harsh demeanor.
It is hardly his fault, after all, for Kiba is broken.
Hige cannot fully comprehend how his alpha became quite so damaged. So much of Kiba's past is a mystery to all of them.
He understands that Kiba will never love him, could never love anyone but the flower maiden, his beloved Cheza.
He accepts this. Cheza is perhaps the only soul capable of healing him.
Yet Cheza cannot stay with them. He does not know how he knows this, but there is a growing awareness within him that Cheza will not be with them forever. What will happen to Kiba then?

Hige has an overactive imagination, yes? XD Or, at least, in this he does. And I know he's not much of a deep thinker, but he has his moments, doesn't he?
What'd ya think? I had this idea randomly this afternoon and was compelled to write a drabble for it, so yeah. I love both Kiba/Cheza and Kiba/Hige, so I had to work that in. Hope you liked it, and please feel free to let me know where you see areas that need improvement.
