Mirror, tell me something
Who else could she turn to? Her reflection was the only one who would give her the answers the world held from her. Nobody but her mirror would listen.
Tell me who's the loneliest of all?
Her parents didn't have time for her. Even if they did, they certainly wouldn't care about such 'small insecurities'. There were no friends for her to turn to, everyone was too scared of her. Scared of her family.
Fear of what's inside of me
Her disregard for others scared her, the contempt she held for the world a constant fear. She was becoming like her parents, cold and distant.
Tell me can a heart be turned to stone?
She didn't know if she was capable of love anymore, if she was capable of anything but hate and disgust. And she didn't know if there was anything she could do about it.
Mirror, mirror, what's behind you?
The dark shapes that barely existed, moving in the corner of her eye. Behind her in the mirror, never stepping into the light. Always hidden in shadows, bathed in darkness.
Save me from the things I see!
Nobody else could see them. It was her power, her skill with dust, her constant exposure to the very essence of their world that caused it. Everybody knew there could be side effects. That didn't mean they cared.
I can keep it from the world
She couldn't tell anybody. She would be called crazy, she would be disowned. Nobody could know what she saw. The creatures of the void, glimpses of another place.
Why won't you let me run from me?
What she saw haunted her, every time she closed her eyes. She couldn't sleep for fear of the nightmares, the visions of the hellish dimension their world came from.
Mirror Mirror tell me something
There was only so long she could stare at her reflection. Some things she couldn't find in the icy lakes that stared back at her.
Who's the loneliest of all?
She often wondered why no one cared. Why she was left alone to defend herself from the monsters that sieged her castle, the creatures of Grim that sought her power.
I'm the loneliest of all
She just couldn't take it for another second. Being denied answers, betrayed by the reflection of her very soul. One punch shattered the mirror, sending glass shards scattering across the room. Some lodged in the taut skin of her knuckles, others crunched beneath her shoes as she stepped back. She didn't care. Not about the scars she would get nor about breaking the antique mirror. It didn't matter anymore. Because she had finally accepted her fate.
Weiss Schnee would always be alone.
