Pairing: Jack x Nami, Marlin x Celia, Rock x Muffy

Author's Comments: Yup. Orcat here, ready to rock with my first fic. For the record, I'm a HUGE Jack x Nami fan, but I am open minded towards other pairings if they are even remotely possible. I'll explain my reasoning for Rock x Muffy and Marlin x Celia in my bio. Oh yeah, and words between quotations indicates someone speaking, words in bold indicates a sign or something of that sort, and words in italics indicates someone's thoughts.

Prologue: Homecoming

"This place…it has old, but strong buildings and some fallow fields."

Takakura said, leading Jack around the farm that Jack's father and Takakura had found all those years ago. Jack nodded. As Takakura led him around, Jack turned more and more inward. He was secretly worried about beginning his new life in Forget Valley. He had never worked on a farm before, and his fear was that he would end up poor and alone.

"Jack…Forget Valley to Jack! These dogs seem to like you! Want to keep one?" Takakura exclaimed.

"Yes…I'll keep the pointy-eared one." He kneeled down and scratched the dog on the head.

"Well then, give him a name." Takakura looked expectantly at his young partner.

"His name is Koro." Jack grinned, scratching his new friend behind the ears.

Takakura shook his head. "I'll find an owner for the other one. I'll build Koro a doghouse later."

Jack walked slightly forward, gazing up at the sky. Takakura snorted.

"C'mon, greenhorn. Name the farm." The older man folded his arms over his chest.

"Hmm. Our farm is known as Timpani Farm from this day forward." Jack rested his hand on Takakura's shoulder.

Takakura walked forward, and Jack followed him. They entered the barn.

"Well, Jack. One more thing for you to do before I let you get to work. Name the cow, and get to work, greenhorn!"

Jack nodded. "I'll name her Coco." Turning his back on Takakura and the cow, he wandered outside and plowed some land in his fertile field.

Takakura ran out after him. "Jack, wait! Don't you want a tour of the Valley?"

"Sure, sounds great. Let's go." He followed Takakura around the Valley, meeting all of the villagers.

He noticed a red-haired girl wandering around, and asked Takakura who she was.

"Oh, her? That's Nami. She's staying at the Inn with Tim and Ruby. Why?"

"No reason…just wondering."

Jack and Takakura returned to the farm, ready to begin work.

As Jack went to sleep that night, he thought of everyone he had met that day, and the mysterious Nami who he had not spoken to.

"I should say hi to her. Tomorrow I will."  was his last thought as he slipped into a dreamless sleep.

Author's Notes: Yup, Prologue completed. Oh, in need of a beta, so drop me a line if you're interested.
