It was in the hospital, after they had found Wirt and Greg from escaping the unknown. Greg was up and about ready to show Wirt his frog's glowing stomach when he woke up. Wirt slept all night, and even into the morning. Almost everyone left that night but returned in the morning. Greg had asked why the "beepy line" had stopped moving, but nobody answered him. everyone was leaving as the doctors explained what had happened to Wirt. Only Jason and Greg remained. Jason was about to lead Greg out when he noticed Greg standing next to Wirt's bed and smiling with tears in his eyes. Through a window, two bluebirds were sitting together and singing, which was odd, since it was nearly winter . As Jason and Greg exited the hospital, the bluebirds watched them closer than before. Greg named them Wirt and Beatrice.
As time passed, Jason started hanging around with Greg, becoming his "adopted brother" of sorts. Jason sometimes would notice the bluebirds watching them, which weirded him out, but he quickly brushed it off. One day, one of the bluebirds started following Jason, making him pretty creeped out. The bluebirds started to bother Jason more, making him paranoid. Greg just thought that they were being friendly, but Jason wasn't so sure. The birds started to paranoy him even more, consuming his life. sometimes they would appear in dreams, or he would see them walking to school. The birds always kept their distance, but were always watching him, as if they knew him.
Awhile later, Jason was in a terrible car accident, and woke up in an unknown stared across a river, noticing two figures. One was a redheaded girl that he didn't recocgnize. The other was a familiar brunette male, waving at him.
Far away, Greg is alone looking through a window when he notices the bluebirds, but this time, there are three.
