Brennan paced the clean, bright halls of the central DC hospital. "Why the hell didn't i tell him i loved him before he went under?" She asked her best friend, Angela

Montenagro. Angela shrugged. "Sweetie, you can tell him when he is in recovery." Brennan sighed and resumed her pacing. A door to Brennan's left opened, and Booth's

surgeon stepped out into the hall. "The surgery was succesfull, he is partially awake and is resting comfortably now. If you wish you may see him." Brennan nodded and

stepped into Booth's room. She took a small step towards his bed, suddenly feeling a knot of tension take up residence in her stomach. Booth looked at Brennan. "Heya,

Bones." he said with a slightly groggy voice. Brennan smiled. "Hi, Booth." She said quietly. Booth locked eyes with her. "Something's wrong." He said softly. Brennan shook

her head, trying to deny it. "No." Booth nodded. "Yes there is. I know you, Bones, and something's wrong. did the surgery have a complication?" Brennan gulped, and shook

her head. Her eyes were slowly filling with tears. "The surgery went as planned, but I..." She shook her head again, and sat on the edge of Booth's bed. Booth reached out his

hand, hesitantly, and slipped his hand into Brennan's. Brennan stared at the wall, and said softly: "I love you, Booth." Booth stared at Brennan in shock. Part of him was

happy, ecstatic even. Another part of him was Terribly sad that it had taken them this long. Brennan looked at Booth. "He doesn't feel the same way, not anymore." She

thought, and that just depressed her. Her voice shook as she tried to speak. "Booth? Please say something, don't just stare at me." Booth sat up in his bed, never taking his

eyes from Brennan. "If you don't feel the same way, I can just..." her voice broke as she gestured towards the door. Booth shook his head, leaning forwards and pulling

Brennan closer to him, to press his lips against hers. Brennan went limp for a moment, and Booth feared he had done the wrong thing. But then, Brennan realized what was

happening, the thing that, like it or not, she had wanted for a very long time. She slid her arms up around his neck and kissed him back. however, they didn't know that

Angela was standing in the doorway with Hodgins. Hodgins cleared his throat, and Angela let out a big: "well it's about damn time!" Booth and Brennan sprang apart, Booth wincing and Brennan's hands flew to her hair, which Booth had slightly mussed. Angela and Hodgins laughed uproariously. Brennan blushed, and stood up to leave. "Booth,

you can go home tommorow. Uh, I'll come give you a ride to your place." She leant down and kissed him, and the kiss lasted for longer than Brennan had intended. She broke away from Booth, and she left the room, unable to prevent the grin on her face. Angela bolted after her, catching up just as Brennan reached the lobby. "Sweetie! You finally kissed Booth!" she squealed. Brennan grinned. "I know." She said dreamily. Angela waved a hand in front of Brennans face. "You are so in LOVE!" she said with a huge grin on her face.
