A/N: This here is Assassin's POV in Oh Dear II. R&R, please!
A Warriors End
By Revan Jast
---------------------Assassin clashed swords with Shadow, the betrayer.
The sunlight shone on their armor as they danced the dance of death. One of them would not come out of this alive. Or neither would.
Blows rained down on each of them from the other.
Assassin could not let Shadow get to Aay and Patrick. He had to hold him back.
Assassin missed, and Shadow saw the opening. He thrust his sword through Assassins armor, and his flesh.
Pain, unbearable pain.
Assassin gasped and fell to his knees.
Shadow laughed, savoring victory.
Assassin growled and pulled the sword out of him. Shadow knelt down in front of him and spoke.
"What are you thinking now, boss? Never thought I'd beat you, eh? Even when you were on our side, you beat me. But not today!"
Assassin coughed up blood, and then, much to Shadows suprise, he smiled.
"No, Shadow, you are wrong. Today you still lose, for I serve Saradomin, and you will burn in Hell."
He fell backwards, his helmet coming off his head. His bright blue eyes began to dull, and his breathing slowed.
Otaku, another White Knight, leaned over him.
"Assassin? Assassin?" Her eyes traveled to the wound in his stomach.
"Ohmygod, Assassin! No! You'll be alright! I'll get you-"
"Otaku..." he whispered.
"-some help, and you'll be-"
"Otaku..." he whispered again. She stopped and looked at him.
"What?"
"Go and help the others," he said. "They need your help more than I."
Tears rolled down Otaku's cheeks, but she nodded and left.
Moments later, someone else was at his side.
"Who-s there-e…?" he sputtered.
"It's Aay," the woman said, tears beginning to well up in her eyes.
He gave a chuckle, but it was rough, and it ended up as a cough. "I did my duty, Lady Aay, and I hope that you-u will succeed-d in you-ur ways…"
Light. Bright light filled the sky behind Aay.
She grabbed his hand. "I thank you, Assasin, for being my protector. I didn't talk much to you and I hardly saw you, but… thank you…"
A ball of light flew down towards him, and he felt his spirit begin to leave him, to go with the Light.
"I was hon-onnored, to guard, a per-son, like you," he mumbled, and his last thought was; The best gift one can give is to lay down his life for his freinds.
He flew through the air, the wind and warm sunlight whipping past him as he rose in the sky. Suddenly he was in a majestic city, streets made of gold, mansions everywhere. A bright light filled the city, and the light came from the figure that moved towards him. In that instant, Assassin knew the figure was Saradomin, here to greet him into the city.
The figure took Assassins hand and he could see his freinds in Varrock, Lady Aay, Sir Patrick, Otaku, all the others from the battle. Assassin smiled upon them, glad to see them happy.
A cry from his left made him turn suddenly, and there stood his lost love, Angela. It was her who taught him the Gift of Life, when she had sacrificed herself that he may have life. She ran over to him and he kissed her, happy to see her again.
They turned back to the world below one last time, and Assassin wished Aay and Patrick the best of luck. Both smiling, the shining figure of Saradomin lead them back into the city.
Indeed, the best gift was the Gift of Life, and the Gift of Love, when one friend layed down his life for another.
So very true.
