He closed his eyes. He couldn't stand seeing Natsu so close to the woman. Sure, she was cute, and they were probably the perfect match, but it still hurt him every time they shared a quick kiss, or even a look. If only it was him sharing looks and kisses with Natsu…
If only…
He had to excuse himself. It was hurting him to be near them at that moment. He answered his friends' questioning expressions with an illness excuse. He didn't lie, not really. Watching them did make him feel sick, and he really did need to leave and get some fresh air. However, what he didn't need was that meddling woman following him.
"Gray-sama? Do you want Juvia to accompany you? Juvia can make you some soup, if your stomach is acting up."
He was able to suffer her consistent blathering, but the second they stepped outside, he turned to her, his fists clenched.
"I'm fine! Now leave me alone!" He turned and walked away without a second glance. He probably hurt her feelings, but he didn't care at that moment. Sure, he'd go apologize at some point, but not now. Now he had to quickly make his way to his place before his stomach decided to let go of everything he ate that morning.
He didn't stop for anything until he was safely in his room, the door closed and locked behind him. Finally in the safety of his home, he leaned against the door and allowed himself to relax.
He knew it was unfair of him to think badly about Natsu and Lucy's relationship, but he couldn't help it. He didn't like that his stomach threatened to vomit. He wanted to be happy for them, he really did, but he couldn't help the jealousy that raged through him.
Natsu was supposed to be his. It would have taken a lot of coaxing, but he would win Natsu's heart in the end. Now, it was impossible. He saw no way for him and Natsu to be together. He hated that he helped those two realize their feelings, and he felt good about it, but not enough to curb the hurt he still felt every time he watched them.
Closing his eyes, Gray indulged himself in another fantasy. It always calmed down his nerves to imagine him and Natsu together, relaxing after just winning a really difficult, but enticing battle against some sort of derp who thought they could best the two of them. They worked perfectly together, it was almost impossible for them not to end up together.
Fate was against him in this match. Was he doomed to watch his best friend live a life of comfort, happiness, and love, while he stood on the sidelines, cheering them on with a forced smile. He would let them have their happiness, while he settled for someone less. Juvia was always willing.
Sighing again, Gray mourned the body that will never be his. The perfectly toned man that was Natsu, who now belonged to Lucy. The warm lips of his, that will only ever gently caress Lucy's body. And let's not forget the nether regions…
He groaned, feeling his own nether regions become piqued at the mere thought a perfectly naked Natsu. Once again, it was by his own hand that Gray would attempt to forget about his beloved pink haired Dragon Slayer.
