This is a poem that I wrote for a school poem contest, and this was the first place winner. But I held back on posting it because of what I did in May 2011. But since today is the tenth anniversary of the worst day in American history, I think it's time I release it to the public. Unlike my last two failures to honor the lost lives, this is going to be a short but special poem to the victims of 9/11. Enjoy.
Today is September 11, 2001,
and today, Americans everywhere looked up into the sun.
Our freedom and liberty came under attack,
but our this nation's strength and bravery shall not lack.
Although the World Trade Center is gone,
The people of this nation shall not fall into the dawn.
Despite that the terrorists have commited evil,
Our nation shall not be down to the people.
The terrorists think they have won the day,
but we shall prove to them that we are strong, the USA.
America shall have much pride,
as we remember this day, far and wide.
The Twin Towers will not be something to ignore,
when the USA finally wins the dreaded war.
For as long as this nation is brave and strong,
the victims will never truly be gone.
And as we solemnly lay the lost ones' graves,
we shall forever remain the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
Deticated to all those who were lost on September 11, 2001. May the lord above bless their souls.
If you decide to review this, please be nice about it.
