Author's Note: This is another poem I had to do for Creative Writing class. It's from the 11th Doctor's point of view. He meets Sherlock and John as children. Enjoy!

Blue TARDIS Everdeen

The Adventure of a Lifetime

By: Blue TARDIS Everdeen

Far away; in the stars

Big and bright; part of my home

In space; all alone

Reflecting the light; the stars shone

The blackness of space whizzing past; the vastness of space

Flying, exploring; not leaving a trace.

This takes up most of my days

Every day; to fly up here

To fly in space; far and near

I'm comfortable here; I'm without fear.

I fly away often; to relieve the stress

Of difficult things in the world, I guess.

I just wish I had someone to share this with

To share space with; such a wonderful gift.

I've been flying up here all alone

For some time now;

Among space, among stars,

Far away from home.

I need to find someone soon

To share with the sight of the moon.

I land on a distant planet;

With sky the colour of granite.

I walk around the town for a while;

Then I come upon something worthwhile.

It's a short little boy; he's wearing a tan sweater

I get excited; my day's just gotten better!

"What's your name?" I say; looking him in the eye.

"John." He says; "I'm awfully shy."

"Nonsense!" I say, grabbing his hand.

"Come! Show me the lay of the land."

He takes me all around the town;

The dust we kick up makes our pant legs brown.

We stop at the local park,

I examine the tree; looking at the bark.

"Oh! I just remembered!" John said; "I forgot something, hold on a tick!"

He ran towards a house in the distance, awfully quick.

He comes back dragging someone behind him;

It's another boy; he's wearing a black coat with bright red trim.

"This is my friend," John says, catching his breath,

The other boy looks terrified; his face as white as death.

"Hiya!" I say, getting down on one knee,

"How would you like to join John and me?"

The taller boy nods; his jet-black curls bobbing;

He says very quietly, "Where are we going?"

I looked at both of them; my excitement growing;

"All of time and space. Anything that's ever happened or ever will

Anything at all, that fits the bill."

I look at the taller boy again;

"By the way, what's your name?"

"Sherlock," he says, with a grin. "I'm glad John came and got me."

"I'm glad you came too, it's more fun with three." I grab their hands,

Pulling them together;

We head back to my spaceship,

Three birds of a feather.

"Your ship is so cool!" Ben says, shedding his coat,

"I hope we go somewhere remote!"

"Oh, you'll be surprised," I say,

"This adventure is sure to make your day."

I push buttons frantically; glancing up at the screen,

"Huh. According to this, it says we're in 1815."

"Doctor, what do you mean we're in 1815?" John said.

"John, I'm afraid we are. But don't be filled with dread."

I pushed more buttons, levers and knobs.

"Alright, hang on tight," I say, "Getting us back to our time is one of my many jobs."

"GERONIMO!"

The TARDIS spun and moved in one go.

She stopped; staying perfectly still,

Flying her takes an awful lot of skill.

"Alright! Let's go see what distant world lay outside the door."

We step outside; the bright light blinding us;

"Boys," I say, clapping my hands on their shoulders, "Exploring new worlds is something I adore."

As soon as we adjust; we continue on our way.

"Doctor, are you sure we go this way?" John said

"Oh don't worry. I know where we're going…. I think." I run ahead of them and into a shop.

I find what I'm looking for; it's a fez, with a fringe on top.

I plunk it on my head, then head out the door.

"Let's go boys. There's a lot more of this world to explore."
