Don't kiss me yet. Stay there, close, but a half-step back from altering our reality. Give my heart some space to feel you there, in front of me, on your way to being here, up against me. I want to fully live this, this pre-something-wonderful instant. I need to see your eyes with their lids half-closed, only half-hiding the burn of who you are. On the brink of going where we've never gone, I have to completely sense and know your intent. To absorb the suddenly possible, the astoundingly probable. I must have that, the truth that you want this, that you need this ... that you're daring to do this.
Wait a moment while I anticipate, and tremble.
Now kiss me hard, and deep; and long. I need many moments to absorb this wonder, to know you in this manner that's new in every sense because I've never allowed myself to contemplate it happening. Don't stop yet. I want the rhythm of your heartbeat, accelerating with mine. I crave the heat of your body and the force of your mouth, and the marvelous press of the length and breadth of you.
I'm finally experiencing my skin when you're touching it. I'm exploring how your muscles move when you're enfolding me. I'm learning that breathing your breath makes my lungs constrict and my heart catch, that the largeness and strength of your hands turns my middle to liquid fire.
I'm feeling you. Let me have that.
And now that we've stopped, just stop. Don't move away yet. Stay here, close, while we realize what we did. Let me have your forehead bent to mine and your arms still around me. Your mouth is so near, so fresh from touching; I must have this moment too. I demand this moment, uninterrupted and whole. Ragged breathing, shaky legs, closed eyes holding the world off for a bit...
I want you just like this, with my arms as far as they'll get around you, because I've never allowed myself that before. Don't force me to let go of this, this utter breach of everything. Hold me, press me, speak with me in silence for a time.
Before we face what is and what cannot be, just for now, let us be.
