Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?
It had been snowing for days, Maura had watched how the snow covered the earth. Layer after layer added up and now there was finally enough to build a snowman.
After nagging Jane the whole morning, the brunette had finally agree to build a snowman with her girl. Putting on her warmest coat and wrapping a scarf around her in the hopes that those things might keep her at least a little warm before the tall detective looked for her doctor again. Maura was already dressed into her coat and boots and was fidgeting impatiently.
Maura had taken Jane´s hands into hers and then she had dragged Jane outside with her. The detective followed her while she was loudly protesting but she simply could not say no to the angelic face of her girlfriend.
That´s how a more than unamused Jane ended up in the backyard of Maura´s house. Folding her arms in front of her chest and watching how Maura started to roll the first ball for their snowman. She could not pout for long as she saw how happy her blonde was while she made the body of the snowman she had been dying to build for days. Jane was cold and standing outside without moving did not help her at all so she decided that it could not hurt to help her girlfriend.
The brunette finally stopped shaking on the spot and helped Maura, who was happy to get any help rolling the first ball of snow. The blonde had been struggling a little as the ball had grown bigger and bigger. Finding the perfect spot in the backyard to place the base for their snowman before they started to form the next part of it. Jane had to help her girlfriend lift the heavy ball of snow and place it onto the base as she had seen how Maura nearly pulled her back trying it on her own. The last ball was the smallest and also the one they had done the quickest.
After the snowman was standing, Maura skipped inside the house and brought a carrot, an old hat and an old scarf with her. They used stones to make eyes and a mouth for the snowman. The carrot became a nose and they topped their masterpiece off with the scarf and the hat.
Wrapping her arms around Jane, Maura marvelled at their work. Now she slowly could feel the cold creeping up her feet and legs. Kissing her girlfriend´s cheek before she skipped off one last time since she wanted to do one last thing before they retreated back into the house.
Maura found a patch of untouched snow and made a snow angel.
"Make one next to me Jay? Please?" puppy eyes looked up at Jane and the brunette simply nodded. Lying down next to Maura she made her own snow angel that was slightly touching the one of her blonde. Now it looked like angels were holding hands.
Like those two angels represented the women.
A now slightly shaking Maura made her way inside followed by her brunette who was shivering just as much.
Maura and Jane looked out into the garden a final time to see the excellent work they had done. The pair shrugged off their wet and cold clothes and retreated onto the couch, where they cuddled up under a fluffy blanket. Maura slipped her ice cold hands under Jane´s shirt and the brunette shrieked in surprise, "Maur!"
Huge hazel orbs looked up at her and the sweetest smile the detective had ever seen was playing on her blonde´s lips. "Sorry, I thought you would not mind if I warm my hands up". Shaking her raven curls with a chuckle before she spoke "I don't mind it at all, sweets. But you could have warned me, you know".
Maura nodded and nuzzled her head into Jane´s chest. The girls kept cuddling in the warmth for the rest of the day.
