What He'd Always Wanted
And Draco pulled him close, the way he had always wanted to, in the deepest, darkest, most secret part of his heart, a place he had never before touched.
Harry responded in a way Draco had never expected him to. That is, if he had thought about it before. Which, of course, he hadn't. He wrapped his arms around Draco, holding him tight, letting the other boy rest his head in the smooth curve between Harry's chin and his chest.
His skin was soft, his neck was warm, and he smelled comfortingly of magic, with a wonderful tang that might have been lemon. Draco couldn't help himself. He snuck a light, playful kiss onto the soft, tender skin that was Harry's neck. It was a simple gesture of affection, a light press of lips to skin, but it seemed to have hit a nerve in Harry, somewhere inside all that armor that a boy who is to save the world must wear, somewhere beyond all that Harry knew, that he understood, to what he felt, farther even than Ginny had reached.
Harry gave a little gasp and Draco, encouraged by the response, trailed a sweet, sure path of kisses down the other's neck and onto his collarbone, mouthing over it slowly, tasting Harry underneath it all, warm and alive, and pure.
Again, Harry's breath caught in his throat, and, as Draco continued to mouth over his collarbone, biting a little now, he came back to himself. He ducked his head, his mouth slightly open and pink and vulnerable, and caught Draco's lips in his own. They kissed, long and hard and passionate, and Draco paused for a moment only to whisper, "I've always wanted to do this," before pulling Harry closer by his belt loops, trying to get as close as he could, do whatever he could, to assure himself, his mind, his heart, that Harry was indeed his.
And Harry surprised himself by answering, "Me too."
But the thing that shocked him the most, the thing that made his heartbeat quicken and his hands shake, that made him press Draco closer until they were nearly one, until he felt nearly whole, was when he realized that he meant it.
