*is a total sucker for Prussia*
This is my first time writing PruAus so I hope it turns out okay!
Blood red eyes scanned the ballroom, guests gliding across the dance floor. The albino was searching for one specific person. Yes, there were fair women, graced in some of the best gowns Europe could offer. Yes, there were dazzling men, sporting the finest suits money could buy, the pale man being no exception. However, there was only one person who had caught the attention of those ruby eyes and the heart of a war-hardened soldier. To him, the object of his affections stood out among the crowd, more beautiful and refined than any of the other guests.
At last, he caught sight of the one he'd been pining after for months: an Austrian man named Roderich Edelstein. A smirk slowly grew on Gilbert Beilschmidt's lips as he sauntered over to Roderich, who had just finished dancing with a Hungarian noble. Hearing footsteps approach, Roderich turned and violet met crimson. Gilbert bowed slightly in greeting to the aristocrat before straightening and offering a hand.
"May I have this awesome dance?" He requested, his demeanor letting off a sense of over-confidence. Roderich stared at the Prussian in disbelief. Ever since childhood, the two had always fought like cats and dogs. That and Gilbert didn't come across as the formal dancing type. Giving a slight eye-roll at the overused word, the man accepted the hand.
"If I must." Came the reply. Gilbert practically beamed at the acceptance. As the next song began, he pulled his partner close to himself and got into position. Roderich scowled slightly as he ended up being the female in the dance, however he decided to entertain the other and let him lead. He was stunned to say the least when Gilbert proved himself to be an excellent and graceful dancer. Not once were his toes stepped on nor a single step out of place; it proved to be a very impressive dance. Once the song had finished, Gilbert hesitated for a moment to pull away.
"Danke for the dance, Roderich." He pulled back only to take the Austrian's hands in his own and kiss the backs of them. Roderich nearly fainted from shock at the move. Straightening once more, Gilbert leaned forward next to Roderich's ear, making him shudder when he whispered, "If you want this to go further, which I have a feeling you do, meet me in the gardens. 5 minutes."
As Gilbert disappeared into the crowd, Roderich was left mulling over his options. After a moment a tiny smile graced his features. Perhaps meeting with the Prussian wouldn't be so bad.
There ya have it! Hope it wasn't too lame, it was just a random idea that came to mind while listening to Once Upon a December in German
