Haibara was walking into the arranged meeting place; a worn out, abandoned warehouse. She sat down on a large crate and waited, she could hear the cars in the distance and people shouting at each other; everyday, common place sounds but still she listened.
She suddenly heard the heavy tread of footsteps from the other side of the warehouse but she saw no one as the broken window on the roof only served to light up the section she was sitting in "So you did show up then. I almost thought you weren't going to."
There was no response for a while, then a harsh voice cut through the silence like a knife "Just give your report."
Haibara could just make out the outline of two figures in the poor lighting; one tall with a pointed face and the other was shorter, only coming up to the first man's shoulders and had a very round face.
"Police are currently in complete and utter confusion. They still are at a complete loss over the fact that their Superintendent was kidnapped and replaced without any of them noticing. They-" Haibara's speech froze suddenly as the man spoke in a harsh tone.
"We already know all of this- we send impersonators and spies into the police to gather such information. You are here to tell us about the boy. So, what news do you have? How did he manage to completely destroy our helicopter, in the midst of an apparent suicide and yet be walking around no worse for wear today?" The man's voice was as sharp as knives and as cold as ice. It could chill your very soul upon hearing one sound out of his mouth.
"I was getting to that." Haibara snapped, but she conceded under a sharp look from the man. "You remember my previous reports on the professor? Agasa-Hakase? He's created various inventions for Kudo-kun. One of which is the Elasticity Suspenders which can stretch up to 100 metres. He found a spotlight light that had been knocked off by your helicopters gunfire he then placed his suspenders off two different parts of the tower and while still holding on to the spotlight and the suspenders he jumped off the building to a ledge a little over 100 metres down. When he got to it he let go of both, effectively launching the spotlight into the fuel tanks of your helicopter causing a massive explosion and your helicopter to crash."
"Once again quick thinking and idiotic inventions save his life." The harsh voice sneered. The man nodded at his partner who withdrew further into the darkness. " Has anything else happened in the past few months?"
There was a click followed by a slight screwing sound, mostly hidden by the sound of his voice and the background sounds drowning it out. But it was still there... faintly.
"Well the supposed dead Shuuichi Akai has apparently been sighted at a bank robbery, not that he was taking part of course. He was rumoured to have been one of the people held inside the bank at the time." Haibara said with slight anger in her voice, she could not forgive the man for when he had used her sister.
The news seemed to strike a nerve within the man as he gritted his teeth and growled out "Shuuichi Akai." There was suddenly a loud click and if the man had been going to say anything more on the matter he quickly dropped it "Well Sherry, your services have been useful to us, but I think it's time you were reunited with your sister."
In an ordinary circumstance there would have been a loud bang, followed by lots of smaller bangs as the noise of the gunshot ricochetted around the warehouse. As it stood, however, a silencer had been screwed onto the gun, and so there was simply a small pop, followed by the sound of a small body, the size of a child, hitting the ground.
