A/N: I was reading Xaldin's wiki page, and it mentioned that the reason he hates the Beast's love for Belle could be attributed to his broken heart over someone when he had a heart. And thus this oneshot came to life.

Remember
He knew he was Nobody. And Nobodies never feel. They only fake.
But he was also cursed. They all were.
After awhile, he stopped caring about his lack of heart. Feelings were a waste of time. He had become a Nobody for a reason, to never return to the life of a Somebody. The darkness was more gratifying than the ability to feel. Though there were some benefits to having a heart, overall the negatives outweighed the positives. Remembering was a more "painful" problem. Memories of him as a Somebody, as a fool who felt true emotions… This agitated him to no end.
He was vulnerable especially in that damned Beast's castle. Oh, he was still feared and almighty against the warriors of light and all-good. But this place was where he remembered the most.
It started when he looked into Belle's eyes. Brown eyes, like hers. They say eyes were the window to the soul, and Belle's spoke intelligence and determination. The first time he met her, she was a medical student, studying at one of the top schools in Radiant Garden. She promptly turned down his offer of coffee, and it was only after much persuasion that she rescinded her original answer. The date was lovely, and it led to another, then another. And so on.
His gaze fell to Belle's lips. They were always curved upwards in a smile. Full lips that looked utterly kissable to him; he scorned the Beast for not trying to take advantage of an obviously advantageous situation. After one of his dates with her, he kissed her goodnight. And that kiss led to another, and another. Tongues would touch and bodies would burn in passion.
And that brought his eyes to Belle's body - curvy and natural and aesthetically pleasing to any man. After their first time together, a night of his dominance and her breathy moans and their lust for each other, he promised her a love that would last an eternity. And this time, she promptly agreed.
But love for all eternity was a lie. Darkness would seep into his heart and twist his words and actions until enough was enough for her. Though filled with darkness, he was still whole. He still felt heartbreak.
And that was when he looked at Belle's heart. Hers was still full of life and love for a man, a Beast, who in turn would love her. And even give up the darkness for her.
He was different. He chose the stronger of the two. But why couldn't he win? Love never prevailed. Love was a waste of time. Yet he still felt a weakness when he looked at her. Bits of memories were still etched on his soul and still reminded him he once felt love.
It certainly was a nuisance to remember. It would be better to forget.
